While I only recently started playing in Seren again it is my impression that when a guildmaster says there is no truce after people asked on seren aether, we are just going to assume it is so. Also why would Glomdoring negotiate a truce with someone who doesn't hold any commune office, or even guild security for that matter.

Glomdoring makes most the truces with Seren through non-guild/commune leaders. Then go "Well, you should have stuck to the truce!" when no one knows about it.

Can't blame the commune members, though. Communication hasn't been the specialty of the leadership. Ahem. Ahem.

At least Xiran has the backbone to do something.

I know things suck and I know that time was lost, but I sort of want to do the epic quest someday. The way things are going on this thread, Someone Upstairs is going to just dismantle all of the epic quests for an overhaul or some kind of "i'm sick of the bitching, let's just stop it altogether" solution.

That would be a bad thing. Kind of like the nexus world conflict that people are suddenly missing.

I'd rather roleplay this in-game, but I'd like to say that I just nagged at Nienla OOCly through Xiran and not much else. So Xiran can't take much credit for this "truce".


Edit: To which Nienla responded in a reasonable manner and took the initiative and found a way to role-play out a deal with other Serens.

Ah, so the answer to all our IG problems is to forum-RP and metagame. Xiran only reinforces this with her revelation about this truce, while Lendren and his tweet-resulting-in-flow-change established it.

Most of my argument-ending posts stem from trying to understand OOC bitching when there are dozens of ways to fix things without resorting to forum politicking. So, you got to the meat of my post quickly enough. Winner.

Uh, yeah, to reiterate the point-- if you are going to try and make a truce with the Serenwilde commune, you need to actually talk to someone in charge. "But I told and we agreed, that's a truce!" really doesn't cut it. If no one else knows, we can't very well adhere to it.

I don't believe that Nienla outed you on the forums.

Further, there is no rule against 'outing' an alt in other mediums aside from the forum; nor do I feel there should be, especially if said alt is being a pita.

Now, the person who did mention it here did break a rule, to which you could have just reported the post and had it removed with almost nobody getting it. Instead you decided to make a huge deal out of it, and now everybody knows.

That's probably because by the time it reached the ears of a leader and they got to the news room to post about it, it's already been broken. That's how short-lived these 'promises' are.

You can get sweetgrass by giving exotic plants to Aybetyu or whatever his name is, the gardener in Serenwilde. Pretty sure it is a different source, and so, you're not limited to getting only three sweetgrass an hour.

You missed the part where sweetgrass is only needed on the Glomdoring side.

There's that small matter of Siam and everyone else helping him being enemied to Serenwilde.

Ack, somehow the "pay a traitor" line got lost in posting.

Except it works the other way around for Mag's epic. If you guys do the quest, we need to kill Marani - a supermob in territory which is enemied for a large proportion of our high-level guys. And then there's a twelve-hour reset. And if the person we want to raise Marani isn't around, you guys just do it again, so we need to kill her again. This has been going on for several rounds now.

See why I have little sympathy for certain Glom's complaints about their epic being blocked? Sure, it sucks for Siam. It also sucks for Destridas, but that doesn't seem to stop you. According to Xenthos, trying to screw over Magnagora with Marani has become a "tradition".

I'm confused why people are being so mean as to try to block people from doing their epic quest just for the fact that they're trying to do their epic quest.
