What's the syntax to shake the trees and make the warblers come out in the Kiakoda Reserve, the bird forest area? Better yet, tell me how you would find out what the syntax is without guessing.

I forgot...

Aruba says that snakes have escaped the desert. There is a tunnel connecting desert and forest with snake tracks visible. Harrison says something about them hiding among the branches. Granted, I was told the answer straight up, but it was still neat to figure out how I would have arrived at it myself when I was trying to walk someone through it without just feeding them the answers.

Does anyone know how long you'll be able to get iron tickets? Just until 00.00 GMT, or for another few days?

Iron Lotteries only last 24 hours, so 00.00 GMT.

You can't eat, smoke, or apply anything, period.

Ah, so it's allheale/gedulah time. Thanks.

You can still sip, as even your own experience showed. smile.gif
Kiradawea2010-04-06 21:51:50
You can also still apply health to cure wounds, and more importantly, blindness.
Unknown2010-04-06 23:21:56
You sure about that?
Kiradawea2010-04-06 23:27:40
Yes. There was a huge argument around it around the envoy report regarding aurawarp.

I'm curious about the dark malts in brewmeister. Searching for "darkmalt" and "dark malt" in the aethershop turns up nothing-- is it something that gets added to other drinks? If so, anyone know where I could pick some up? And just how much is the damage boost?
Sylphas2010-04-07 02:46:24
Malts are beer ingredients. Search PALEBEER, AMBERBEER, DARKBEER, I believe.

You are under a Minor Blessing of the Domotheos of Death.

What does this do and how do you get it?
Ssaliss2010-04-07 03:00:30
From HELP DOMOTH BLESSINGS:

Domotheos of Death
o Minor: Bless a race with an increase in endurance and endurance
regeneration.
o Lesser: Bless a guild to give an aura of vengeance that will attack
those who kill its members. (Guild members who kill their own will not
trigger this effect.)
o Major: Bless a city/commune to summon forth a permanent Catacombs of the
Dead at the nexus of power until the Major Blessing is lost.

You get it by someone holding the Death domoth calling down a blessing on your race, guild or city. Malicia holds the Death domoth at the moment.

So. That size stuff from before got me thinking. Exactly how tall would the average trill be, anyways?

Still wondering this. suspicious.gif

Regarding heights, this was always my theory:

A Human has a size of 12. If the average male Human is 6 feet tall (which I feel is a pretty good standard), then males of the race would be half of whatever their size number is.

So that would mean a male Furrikin, with a size of 6, would be an average of 3 feet tall. A male Dracnari, with a size of 14, would be on average 7 feet tall.

Some people don't really follow this, but I always liked to go with "Game mechanics can sometimes enhance RP."

This is actually how I've always viewed it as well smile.gif

You can take it further and say, if the average male human is 6 feet tall, and the average female is about 5 and a half feet (though to be honest, I think that's adding something to the height, people just say the average is 6 because it's nice to round up from something like 5 feet 10 inches), then the furrikin male is 3 feet tall and the furrikin female is like 2 feet 8 inches...

ok bedtime.

Nope. I had my suspicions that this couldn't possibly be the case due to the whole trill weirdness, and this was confirmed with:

QUOTE (Eventru @ Mar 31 2010, 07:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Size is in reference to their all around mass. Trill are light-boned (like a bird!), but are markedly taller than humans. I'd say 12 is a fair point to say six feet, average mass. But you can be 10 and be closer to 7 feet, with a much lighter mass. That's my general rule, anyways.

So now I'm left wondering what the actual average height for trill is. Well, for that matter, of any race! Just silly things I want to know out of curiosity.
Xiel2010-04-07 08:40:50
1 size = 6 inches has always been what I've thought and come across. Do ze math and bam, average trill!
Esano2010-04-07 09:33:14
As has been said, size is a reference to more than ... actual size. It's also mass. So trill have a lower size but are generally taller than humans.

Most people go with the 1 size = 6 inches, though, and it works in most cases, but can make you wonder just how much immense power can emanate from a demigod half a foot tall ....
ongaku2010-04-07 09:58:48
There are always exceptions to the rules, of course. That's just what I go by, but it doesn't mean that I think a race can't be tall and use the size as a mass sort of thing. I apologize for giving my personal take on it. tongue.gif

Yeah, 6" is a good assumption, unless the creatures in question have body builds that differ significantly from human beings.

A large specimen of the largest eagle species in real life — the harpy eagle — with its wings spread high, would look pretty near as large as an average human male. They stand "only" three and a half feet tall at most, but they can have a nearly seven-foot wingspan, and that is quite significant.

Despite seeming to be almost as large as humans, they top out at 30 pounds or so. (Also, despite weighing "only" 30 pounds, I'm pretty sure a large harpy eagle could break a human being to pieces with its wings and rip off several large chunks of flesh in under ten seconds.)
