Nope. Way, way back in the olden days of Achaea, there were some chill/heat effects in certain areas/weather, but that's gone the way of the dodo now.

You mean it lives on a secret government-controlled island somewhere deep in training as the latest anti-terrorist weapon of mass-distraction? ninja.gif

Something that occured to me through my daily never-ending trudge towards Demi-hood... Are titan and demi stats based on the "mortal" race, or are they the same for all demis/titans?

Race determines your stats. Titan adds +1 to all stats, and demi adds an additional +1.

I'm assuming the base is increased? Or is the cap still the same, demi or not?

The base is increased.
Unknown2010-03-04 19:55:12
The base is not increased. There is no real cap, per se. It's just diminishing returns the higher you go.

Edit: depends on what you mean by 'base is increased,' I guess. Titan/Demi bonus is added automatically and not as a defense, but the baseline of 12 for benefit/penalty calculations is still the same, I believe.

Really? I've never been able to get above 21 charisma (which would be a +5)... and even losing a few buffs, I still kept the 21. Always assumed +5 was the cap after reading HELP BUFFS. Guess I'll have to experiment more with it.
Unknown2010-03-04 20:12:46
It's quite possible to get over 21. It's just not so easy for a non-demigod. Not that it makes a huge difference at that point, anyway...

Aoife used to be able to hit 24 charisma pretty regularly as a shadowcaster faeling; I've gotten 22, maybe 23 on occasion as a standard faeling.

There is, in fact, a cap.

+5 weighted stat points over your base stats is a hard cap. No matter how many buffs you get, you cannot get greater than +5 weighted points (which is +8 raw, I believe).

Titan adds +1 to your base, Demi adds +2 to your base, so these are not included in the weighted total.

As such, each race has a different cap on each stat. A Shadowsinger's max Cha is far different from a Viscanti's.

Check HELP WEIGHTING (I believe that's the help file that explains it all...)
Ssaliss2010-03-04 20:49:07
I'm assuming you mean this one (HELP BUFFS, but it could be under other names as well):

QUOTE ("HELP BUFFS)
4.2.1 INCREASING ATTRIBUTES (BUFFS)
There are many abilities, spells and skills that help you increase your
attributes (strength, intelligence, etc.). These are known as "buffs".
Buffs are not calculated in a 1:1 manner, but rather are a weight that
is used to calculate the attributes. (This includes divine favours.)

Attribute Increase / Buff Weight Needed
+1 1
+2 2-3
+3 4-5
+4 6-7
+5 8+

NOTE: The exception is SIZE, where the increases are calculated 1:1.

This... is not possible. The maximum you can buff over your base is +5.
Level <=98 shadowsinger faeling has a base of 17, with the max attainable from buffs being 22.
Level <=98 unspecced faeling/shadowcaster has a base of 16, and the max you could push that to is 21.

It's not diminishing returns... there is an upper cap. Even on this delightful day when I had 9 TFs amongst other buffs, I didn't go over +5s to any of my base stats. smile.gif

The cap I was referring to was a total stat value cap, meaning that you aren't capped at 21, 22, or any fixed number. It depends entirely on where you start and how many buffs you can get to bump that up. I would say the cap is more soft than hard, just because it's different from person to person, race to race, or whatever.

Not only cryptically vague, that wasn't even a question. Wrong thread?
