Pity. Wasn't there also an enchanted kite or something? I dunno.

As a pet? There's a dingbat artifact kite, maybe that's what you're thinking of.

I was hoping that they'd stack, i.e. if you hit 2500 you'd get 5+10+15, but they don't, do they?

Of course they do.

Ooo, nice.

Is there a way to quit out of an arena game, like slippers, while waiting for it to start?

HEARTSTOP?

Or does that not work in slippers?

HEARTSTOP?

Speaking of this, I have no idea why heartstop is used. What is the point? IIRC, I read that the experience loss is "greater than that of a normal death." What then, is its practical use? I thought I've seen people on deathsight who used it to escape a combat situation (but I could be wrong, I wasn't actually there with them). Wouldn't it be better, if you're stuck in a combat situation which involves certain death (which is what I assumed they were doing, anyway) to just pretend to try, let them kill you, and incur the lesser experience penalty?

Anyway, I have no idea what I'm talking about, obviously. Somebody explain this to me.
Doman2010-02-28 06:25:59
some do it to deny their enemies the satisfaction, and it's the easiest way to get outta some locked manses or aetherbubbles.

Use it out of spite. You don't want your opponent to get the kill so finish yourself off.

If all else fails, just re-login. Almost all your defs would have gone down anyway.

Has anyone came up with an IC reason why Gaudiguch and Hallifax don't have their nexii at their nodes?
Doman2010-02-28 06:55:59
MAGIC!

It was added in Achaea when people were locking others in order to steal everything they were carrying and similar situations where killing yourself was preferable.

I was actually thinking of that patchwork dragon Diamondais mentioned.

We just re-built the nexii so the connection was re-established at a different spot?
Esano2010-02-28 21:48:10
The nexii weren't rebuilt, but ... what exactly do you mean? If it's Astral, is there a reference somewhere that says the nexii were at the nodes? If it's the Prime nodes ... they were, AFAIK, never meant to be at where the nexii were.
Doman2010-02-28 22:32:12
They are on Astral

Are you sure? It's not like Celest / Magnagora's are at the node, either.
Doman2010-02-28 22:37:55
Oh, I thought you meant at the power node on astral, no no, they're not I don't think

I think Heartstop was also much more spiteful back when you could get a lot of experience through PK. You'd heartstop to prevent the other person from getting that experience, whereas now the experience is so pitiful that you heartstop just out of spite.
