And every blessing I've come across overrides others, except for god realm blessings. So I'd assume this is the same case since it doesn't have a "divine" line in the blessing.

Blessing candy definitely overrides Tosha blessing. You get the later one, even if it's smaller. Tosha is equivalent to medium blessing candy.

How could I check and see if a design-type was new or not? I can not be the first person to want a towel, can I?

I never have a good feel for where Lusternia actually is with respect to technology or what is too modern. Doesn't Mag have electric lights?

I guess if swimsuits were invented for morality though they have no place in Lusternia wink.gif

Mag is pretty advanced as far as things go, but the Trademaster scrolls say "medieval in theme".

That said, if you're not a tailor or trademaster I'm not sure you CAN check...

(PM ahoy!)

If there's a mention in the TM scrolls that says all designs have to be medival I am pretty sure that's a mistake. We've been pretty lenient in what we will and will not allow, considering lusternia is supposed to be late renaissance (printing presses ahoy!).

Only the stuff from the late 20-th century onwards gets rejected, such as zippers, velcro, jumpsuits... latex. Designs in 30s styles for example will easily be approved as long as they don't incoorporate zippers, etc.

Any requests that are on the edge will generally be discussed among the Charites before an answer is given, so there's no harm in trying.

Hope this was helpful.

Oh, someone has to make a zoot suit now.
Jack2010-02-01 14:49:26
Hell yes.
Kante2010-02-01 15:30:08
I vote Ruiku as the first person to wear the zoot suit.

It's in the super-long TM guidelines file:

QUOTE
5. Suitability

We will only accept designs that are suitable for a tailor working in a
medieval-ish environment to create. Some rules:

Which, frankly, in general could stand to either be broken in two or re-written to be more concise and up-to-date.

Also, I now know what my next several public designs are going to be - because once Rodngar sees this post he's going to want a zoot suit!

I may also ask the Charites for a "suit" in highfashion, because honestly there is ONE pattern in that entire category (with the exception of two dress designs that got in there somehow) and that's a little silly.

Since we're allowed to talk about it now... What is it? I don't recall seeing anything that wasn't already being used for something else as I wandered the city. Not that I looked exhaustively.

Pretty sure he's talking about the "quest" via the Crimson Lady in the Sea of Despair, which I wouldn't count, because it's not specific to city members and there's an equivalent in the Inner Sea (Kelpie Maiden).

It's a terrible reward for the effort required either way.
Rodngar2010-02-01 17:38:53
Make it so.
Unknown2010-02-01 17:46:13
I propose we make Highfashion an analogue to Weddingbands. Expensive, non useful, non decay clothing.

There's coats, shirts and trousers, nothing keeping you from making them in that style!

Yes, Tosha gives all, but I'm just saying if it is counted as the same buff (ie you can't stack both).

And actually, Magnagora has a quest that gives a blessing, too.

For clarification's sake, only Celest and Serenwilde currently have 'in house' blessings. Both Sea ships (Crimson Lady, Kelpie Maiden) offer blessings as well, for the intrepid quester.

Edit: And both ships are considered 'newbie' quests. It's more that they provide a gain for the bashing, versus bashing required for gain.

Er.. the Morgfyre side of the Aestra quest finishes in prime Mag and gives a blessing, no?

It actually finishes in his realm.

The Kelpie Maiden blessing is mana though. Dunno what happens for Cantors who get the dove though.
