Has anyone tested illithoid's ability to get esteem through intimidation/paranoia influencing (i.e., to influence regularly) with their advantage vs. the low cha? I have a friend who is thinking about playing and making an illithoid and I want to be able to tell him as much as I can, and the forum search is not being very helpful here.

It doesn't delay rebuttals, which is a pretty important detail for anyone without superego.

Well yeah, but in theory if you completed the influencing faster than normal (due to it taking less "hits"), then taking on rebuttals wouldn't be too bad. This begs the question though... do paranoia/intimidation illithoid influencers do it in less total time, the same, or does it take longer? Since if it isn't in less time they'd still be bad at the influencing.

They're bad at influencing.

Can anyone remember anything amazing happening on September 4th?
Lorina2010-01-11 06:54:10
That's a weird question...?

Steverwin has been beaten to a pulp by a jet-black manta.

Not on September 7th, but close confused.gif

Aha, classic.

Is there somewhere I can see the previous winning designs for the Seal of Beauty challenge?

I'd also like to know this.

Can't find the winning designs, but here are a few links to ponder.

Those are all pretty elaborate. Robes, tapestries and thrones seem like popular entries. Gives me an idea... chin.gif

Huh, when did they change the trademaster help files? It used to be that anyone could look up the minimum commodities needed in a design, but now it looks like you need to be a trademaster.

Charune announced it recently, to streamline things. He added in specific comm amounts for tailoring accessories too, which is nice, rather than having "2-25" or whatever it used to be.

Shaddus2010-01-11 19:41:50
Pretty recently, and it saddens me.

You can ask any trademaster and they can probably tell you.
Arte2010-01-11 20:48:00
My masterpiece is complete!

If anyone reading this has any experience with submitting cooking designs, please give me a holler in-game. I'd like to run this past someone before submitting it for Beauty, as I've never even sent in a regular design before.

I think you answered your own question. The prompt flags tell you which hand is off-balance. If you want to see the hand that's swinging/jabbing, I recommend using two different weapon designs. smile.gif

I've considered two different weapons and there's merit in that besides knowing which arm is off-balance.

I was just curious why so much effort is made convey balance yet a simple message isn't provided. Using the prompt-balance would work, but I've found trying to script it somewhat complicated (and as my prompt catcher doesn't seem to be catching values of the prompt at the moment, it has been more difficult. smile.gif)

Has anyone successfully attempted this?

I track my arm balances nicely from the prompt flags, and I use it in a lot of aliases and triggers. Having it in the warrior messages is unnecessary, and I personally feel it would make the messages less interesting and unique.

I'm sure once you get your prompt script firing, you'll have no problem with the flags for balance tracking. My question to you, though: why use TF?
