Look in old Quotes threads.

EDIT: Wait, there was actually a thread made, fairly sure with Morgfyre's name in it, that had logs of his return. Go look for those!

I have to think hard sometimes about whether something is a bug or not. I tend to approach things mechanically. When I discovered that you could try to target a battle turret while it's off balance and find out what creatures are out there my first thought was that I could write some scanner code to run through all the beasts and see what's in range. Then I thought it was kind of odd to use the turret while off balance and maybe they would change it later and invalidate my code. Then it occurred to me that maybe it was unintentional and I should just leave it alone. And it was a bit later that I realized I should log it as a bug. (Which they have fixed.)

You can apply that same scanner code to a prioritized targetting device. If the turret can't find anything to target, it doesn't take balance. If it does find something to target, it does take balance, preventing further targets to be acquired. So if you do something like "turret target creature x;turret target creature y" it will always target x if in range, if not y if in range, if not it won't use balance.

That's how I've always done it - autotargeting karibideans before moving on to whatever we're currently hunting, followed by random junk that might show up.

Yes, I do sleep, but only when the rest of you are awake.

How long does oil of preservaton last on an item and by how much does it reduce the decay time?

Would it stack with a jewelry box?

About 10%, and yes.

So Serenwilde has the full moon, Glomdoring has the new moon. I figure Jojobo might have the midday or something...

But what time of the day and month is Ackleberry going to get?

How large is an aether manse supposed to be? Is it supposed to be a small space, like the cockpit of a ship, or is it essentially limitless?

Whatever you want it to be. It's your own personal world.

Manses are limited only by the size of your chequebook your imagination. rolleyes.gif

A little too close to Gaudiguch's time, 4:20.
Xavius2010-01-04 18:50:49
That's not a simple question. You have two distinct things here: the manse proper, and the plane of existence.

A manse's size is a function of its...well, size. A two room manse is bigger than a one room manse. Thus, when an algontherine melds with a little manse, it doesn't last long when getting ripped up by the claws of a beast the size of a mountain. However, a manse is also an aether bubble. The mechanics of such are totally glossed over and definitely do not work according to physics, even the physics of a world where thinking really hard makes things blow up with no transfer of energy. The apparent internal size of an aether bubble is however big that bubble happens to appear from the inside.

Jojobo will have Full Sun. Ackleberry, therefore, will have New Sun, when the dark side of the sun's face is turned to the world.

...yes, the sun has phases. I read it someplace. It's science.

Yeah phases, but not quite like that. The equator of the sun spins faster then the poles, so it sort of gets... wound up, then eventually it the equator starts to spin the other way until it's wound up in the other direction.

But uh, took astronomy like 5 years ago and didn't double check so don't quote me on it.
Aerotan2010-01-05 08:24:35
Likely it'll be something like Spring and dry season (ostensibly the 'summer' months). (Jojobo is a tropical forest, which presumably wouldn't go through the typical winter->spring->summer->autumn->winter, but would instead be dry season <-> monsoon season)

The real question here is, if you can shape your manse to be infinitely large, then if you had two rooms, would two times infinity be more than one time infinity, considering that both are already infinite?

No, as once you reached the first infinitely sized manse, the second room would simply be a different side of eternity, seeing as with infinite space, infinite situations will occur.
