No.

But on the other end, it is possible to be ostracized from a city/commune but remain in the guild.

Is the strength of a guildfavour affected by the giver's number rank, or is it based only on hierarchy position (Secretary/Security, Undersecretary/Protector)?
Guildrank, in detail you never wanted to know:
Your favor is worth a number of points equal to your rank. So, a GR5 favor is worth exactly half of a GR10 favor which is worth exactly half of a GM's favor. The code holds GA's as GR21 and GC's as GR22, but I haven't been able to work out if they actually give 21 and 22 point favors or if they're worth the same 20 as a GM.
Anyways!
The points of favors needed to advance to the next guild rank is your current guild rank times ten. So, GR1 to GR2 is 10 points. GR2 to GR3 is 20 more points, for 30 total. Chart looks like this:
CODE
GR1 - 10 -Â Â 10
GR2 - 20 -Â Â 30
GR3 - 30 -Â Â 60
GR4 - 40 - 100
GR5 - 50 - 150
GR6 - 60 - 210
GR7 - 70 - 280
GR2 - 20 -Â Â 30
GR3 - 30 -Â Â 60
GR4 - 40 - 100
GR5 - 50 - 150
GR6 - 60 - 210
GR7 - 70 - 280
That's why advancement programs to GR4 work out so cleanly when elected leaders give out the favors. The first favor puts you at 20 points, or GR2. The second favor puts you at 40 points, which is GR3. The third favor puts you at 60 points, which is exactly the amount needed for GR4. If any non-elected leader favors, the whole thing is thrown off-kilter.

How do you know all this Xavius? You are the Number Man for everything.

An Achaean reverse engineered the guildrank system. I forget who. As for GA and GC rank, well, you learn more about how code works from its bugs than its features. (The bugs have all been corrected now - no GC's spying on GM's anymore!)

So what would happen if a person ran for Guildmaster when outside of the Main Org, and won?
Vashner2009-11-16 02:27:01
By definition, he or she should be in the ruling council.

I don't think you can contest if you're not part of the org... you lose all guild positions when you quit / are kicked out of the org.
Everiine2009-11-16 03:03:39
Are you sure? My memory may be faulty as usual, but wasn't Flacarealah GC in the Serenguard when she was ostracized? Or maybe she had resigned already.
Who wants to test?
Who wants to test?

Unknown2009-11-16 03:26:59
You lose positions when you get booted from the org, including non-IC ones like envoy. I'm guessing that means you aren't allowed to contest while out of the org, either.

She definitely lost it.

Is there a written history of the Dwarven Kingdom, or has it not been created?

They should change that. If you can have a non-city guild member, you should be able to go the full hog and throw up the single finger salute.

I think the Pantheon already gave the salute to you roguish types.

I'm not a rogue though! I just keep so far under the radar lately that people only notice me when I'm creeping around for power.

Can influencing with amnesty remove enemy status completely or do you have to pay gold to actually remove the status?
Kiradawea2009-11-17 01:15:01
You can have your status permanently removed. It's just a bit difficult to get done. Get a Celestine or Sacraments paladin to help you and you should be good to go.
