If I made an alt and bought credits with money and transfer them (and the dingbats) to my main, would this be violating the seconds rule (the alt was made for the propose of just getting the sale, I probably won't play the alt any time soon (as I can't alt...))?

From HELP CREDITS:
QUOTE
*You may not, however, transfer credits obtained within the game (i.e. not
purchased from Lusternia) to any of your alternate characters. See HELP CREDIT
TRANSFERS for details.

And HELP CREDIT TRANSFERS
QUOTE
The rule for credit transfers
-----------------------------
If you gain/acquire the credits in an In Character manner, then you cannot
transfer them between your seconds. If you gain credits in an Out of Character
manner, then you may transfer them freely.

IC ways to gain credits (can't transfer freely amongst seconds)
---------------------------------------------------------------
- Spend gold to purchase credits via the credit market.
- As a mentor.
- For various forms of leadership.

OOC ways to gain credits (which can then be transferred freely)
---------------------------------------------------------------
- Buy them for money on the Lusternia website, or via the mails.
- Win a Bardic/Artisanal contest.
- As a Guide.

So I would say yes, buying credits in a credit sale on one character and sending them to another would be a violation of the seconds rule.

I guess, I saw that it was OOC and said I could freely transfer it, but being a sale I wasn't sure I was allowed.

If by "buy with money", you mean with gold sovereigns earned IG, that might be questionable. If it's with RL money, there's no reason to think it wouldn't be allowed. You are using OOC means to obtain a totally OOC currency to do with as you please.

FROM HELP DINGBATS
QUOTE
Dingbats are considered OOC and you can use them to purchase gifts for others
with no restrictions as well as transfer dingbats to others.

As an observation, when I issued myself asking if the dingbats I earned from killing toys could be freely transferred to my other characters, the answer was "Yes".
Diamondais2009-08-29 16:19:26
What type of credit sale? The ones Estarra hosts or one a commune/city/guild hosts? Because, what you seem to be saying is that you buy it during one of the ones Estarra holds then it's fine.
Ayisdra2009-08-29 16:22:59
Yes, the dingbat sale that I would buy with real money. I was just worried If I made an alt I would probably never play just to get the sale bonus (as I have already got it for the package I would buy.) was a bit questionable.

I suppose I could just want for the winter sale. I wish I could know what type of sale happens in the future.

You can make an alt, buy OOC credits and get OOC dingbats, and trade them as you desire.

I'll trade anyone here an OOC dingbat for two IC dingbats. Let me know. superninja.gif

Ah jeez, when you said "credit sale" I thought you meant an org credit sale. Either that, or I completely and utterly misread your post, because I swear it said something different when I first read and responded. Sorry for the confusion!

It is interesting that the sale is designed so that you can get more dingbats for the same amount of money by using alts. Perhaps the admins should rethink how they structure the sale.

It's been mentioned before, but I was told that it was an IRE mandate that it function this way. It doesn't really make much sense. You can just keep creating new alts and buying the dingbats.

...dude. If that doesn't make sense to you, you really need to take some kind of Economics class.

Selling item with 0 intrinsic value (credits) for items with intrinsic value (dollars) = profit
Getting people to do the above at an increased rate = PROFIT!!!!!

Edit: Technically, dollars don't have intrinsic value. I know this, you know this, we all know this. I just wanted to keep it short. >.>

What? Did my post not make sense to you?

I was saying that it did not make sense to make people keep having to make new alts to do it. There's no real reason not to have it roll over and start again once you get the 300.

Or even earlier. You get a higher CR-DB ratio early on.

What's the difference between prone and sprawled?

If you're sprawled, you're proned. There a lot of things that count as proned though, like, paralyzed, entangled, frozen, etc.

Prone is any of a set of disabling afflictions. Basically, if you have a P in your prompt, you're prone.

Sprawled is more specific. It diagnoses as "sprawled on the ground." It's what you get from sitting and sleeping, plus a handful of combat things.
Esano2009-08-30 08:07:32
Prone is anything that adds a p on prompt, including entangle, paralysis, severspine, etc.

Sprawled is what you need to STAND to cure.

EDIT: God, ninja'd.
