MANTICORE MADE THE LIST!
Yay, now I can submit the design.
Can anyone help on question #2? What can you tell me about AB DISCERNMENT BREATHING. Just acquired the skill and the AB is skimpy.
Xiel2009-08-27 04:55:13
Yeah, just updated my list now for those few. Silly wiki. Clicky ze link for full list.
Kiradawea2009-08-27 07:40:26
Kouseki flowers!! But did they increase cobra population or decay time on the flowers so I could get six flowers at one time?

Xiel2009-08-27 07:46:07
Should be easy enough to get six kouseki flowers at the same time. I suggest trying the quest before trying to design something with that many first though.
Xiel2009-08-27 09:00:07
So, I know it's far fetched, especially since it's been so long, but I figure I might get lucky. Does anyone know the names of the Celestian and Magnagoran colossi? If so, would they have a probed description by any chance? I'm getting irked that I found the Nyx Daedema and the Begym Eld but not the other two, but I figure I should ask. :<
Kiradawea2009-08-27 09:02:37
Each flower requires four cobra, there are 20 cobras in total. You do the math.

Is using American spellings (misspelling, as far as I'm concerned!) instead of British spellings valid points for critiquing publications? If it's an issue for submitting designs, it should be an issue for library books, right?

When a warrior hits, is there a noticeable order to whether damage, poisons, wounding, and afflictions, what goes first?
Think it goes wounds -> afflictions -> damage -> poisons.
Certain of first two. The last two I concluded from reading logs (people die after getting the afflictions and poison hits after vitae).

No. Only major misspellings are considered valid critiques. The American over British isn't included in the library tasks because it's unfair to demand a change of normative writing behaviour for something as big as a book. Also, remember that books are supposed to be written by characters, hence minor errors are to be expected. However, designs are supposed to be what you see so there can't be any errors on that.

There's a painting of Celest's construct in the library. It's the Phaetan Kytac.
As a hulking construct of white stone and gleaming metal, the shape of this
colossus bears only a superficial resemblance to the mortals who made it. Thick,
sturdy blocks of crudely carved marble and hammered bars of steel form an
immovable base that supports the rest of the statue. Showing scant attention in
their making, the carvings only hint at the shape of legs below and arms held
along the body. Protected with wide overlapping strips of smooth steel, the huge
torso contains a large hollowed out cavity within the marble - big enough for
someone to enter - with several smaller niches along its interior. At the
pinnacle of the colossus, a broad neck and head complete the appearance of the
statue. Metal fashioned across the bands of the chest of this immense creation
form shield-like shapes that hold a protective pattern across the hulking
creation. The colossus holds an expression of pure vigilance, unwavering in its
duties as it resides massively over the area, exuding an aura of protection.

Easy, there is no breathing skill in discernment, so nothing to tell you.
However, the breathing skill in discipline blocks asphyx damage when you have it up but doing much of anything will make it drop.

Incorrect-- each flower only requires two cobras. I did the quest a few weeks ago (or has it been a month already?).

Err, yeah... sorry, meant discipline. So there is no mana/ego/willpower consumption for its use, and I won't die from holding my breath for too long?
Chade2009-08-27 17:29:32
Nope. Nope and Nope.
Basically you put it up in situations where you might receive asphyxiation damage, it drops when you do just about anything though. Once you put it up, as long as you do nothing it will stay up forever pretty much with no detrimental effect.

No. Each flower requires two beakers of fluid. Each beaker requires two cobras. Hence four cobras for a snake. Unless they've changed it, that was how it worked when I did the two quests requiring Kouseki flowers.

Again I say it, the evolution of a language does not mean that the different variants are wrong. Should I suddenly start posting in Anglo-Saxon in one sentence, middle english in the next, and modern english in the third, all sentences would be correct from a linguistic and grammatical point of view. They aren't mis-spellings, they're simply different spellings.

I just performed the quest a few weeks ago. It's one cobra per beaker.
