Why does Trueground cost 2 power while Flood, Taint and so on only costs 1? It doesn't actually DO anything that tainting, flooding, wyrding and foresting doesn't do better does it?

And? It's still worse than elementaling an area and having a clean room doesn't really do anything but remove those obnoxious elemental lines. So why? What's the reason for limiting it's usage?

You were told the reason. The fact that you don't like it does not change the reason. tongue.gif

It's also useful for clearing out all that foresting from farm lands without putting up elemental magics that will choke out the flax growth.

It's also used to clear forest to keep people from using Flow. Some races have regeneration in terrained areas, so trueground can remove that too.

A non-mage/druid could totally stop a mage/druid from expanding their demesne with well-timed truegrounding (unless the eq loss is greater? but then just need two+ people); this makes that less practical.
Unknown2009-08-10 21:12:45
The equilibrium loss is much greater from Trueground than other abilities. It's like 4-5 seconds, at least.
Nydekion2009-08-10 22:05:42
Trueground has a base eq of 8 sec, mage/druid changes have an eq recovery of 4.0 sec. That said, there are times when a demesne holder would want to trueground instead of forcing a terrain change, even.

Only reason I can think up is if the mage is on Ethereal, Maeve isn't dead, and a druid meld is up.

Not even close. That's Circle from Low Magic or Pentagram from High Magic... wtf.gif
