I didn't see any power gain to Celest for the Xion Initiative. Should we have?

Indirect: No essence bit generation on ethereal planes due to inability to bind fae.

I think you're right about the Commune daughter detail; I'm semi-confident I saw a daughter lurking in Etherwilde that someone missed.

It's there.

FirstMate in aethercraft is between Flashpoints and Shock, is it not?

correct

Wait, both sides become unable to bind fae? I thought that only happened to the losing side.
Also, I'm pretty sure that the winners have an easier time gathering power too. Communes got 10 power for each fae converted no? Was there any other similar benefit they gained?

I think what esano meant is that 'here are the effects of the ritual/initiative that apply to the losing side'. But yeah, he didn't put in the powerboost to fae/essence input. I think +3p/essence is pretty damn huge given that you can turn in essence from Water + Xion and have a huge number of essence bits. There are more essence bits available than fae, but the faeboost is bigger. It all evens out in the end, sorta.

Fae also don't repop every hour, as I'm sure Magnagora can now tell you.
Kiradawea2009-07-30 22:46:42
Yeah, but influencing angels is more fun, which is why I hoped we'd get a power-boost to influencing angels instead of a boost to essence power.

I thought that was a consequence of tainting ethereal? I know for sure fae were repopping after the Xion Initiative since we needed 50 of em to finish healing Raziela.
Tervic2009-07-30 23:11:17
I'm pretty sure fae repop every hour, but I'm also very sure that there are more starsuckers + leeches + grubs + gargoyles than there are fae. There are what, ten breeds? Something like that, and 3 of each breed, for thirty fae total. -total-, between two communes. There are 12 leeches and 24 starsuckers on Water alone if I recall (my number might be off, but even assuming 12 and 12 you can still see how the math is unbalanced). So when an org needs essence bits to raise its respective smob, the ethereal planes need a lot more raiding etc to get their essence bits. True, they only have three each, but it's a lot harder to raise them.
But this also goes for event things that require essencebits. Essence is harder to come by in commune areas. Just something to bear in mind.

Unless it was, in fact, a bug (and finally fixed), fae tend to repop ever hour and a half. And even when they do come back, they're not always laidback when they return.

Ah, I did not know this. Thanks. I guess leeches/starsuckers/gargoyles/grubs don't need to be laidback for you to kill them

Also, don't forget Xion has 25 of each elemental, for another 50 essence.

Yes, but that's available to everyone, so I didn't include it in my comparison.
Razenth2009-07-31 00:20:29
So's clearing Water and Earth. Heck, Water was like, Shuyin's backyard for a while. I'm probably just not getting what the 'comparison' is.

Also remember that from what Estarra said, this is not just Xion Initiative: Nifilhema's Plan is also affecting Ethereal. So, I suppose most of the positive effects of XI NP are fully felt by Magnagora (like the 250k power).
EDIT: Oops, XI should have been NP.

Razenth2009-07-31 03:25:24
250k power doesn't come from Xion! Get your facts straight! It comes from a dastardly evil plot on the part of the Demon Lords!
