Anyway, random idea:

Artisan Mirrors

If you emote at mirror, say, SMILE MIRROR, you'll see the second person view of the emote: 'Caerulo smiles at you.'

Mirrors can be enchanted, letting them do a pre-designed harmless action, when you say a pre-designed phrase to the mirror. So:

You say to a gold-bordered mirror, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the prettiest of them all?"

A gold-bordered mirror flashes once, and you see a haughty disembodied head floating in the mirror. The stranger in the mirror glances at you, then intones in a mocking voice. "You are the prettiest of them all. Now, can you please let me get back to my sleep?" He yawns and poofs away in glassy smoke.

You don't need to guess. You should be able to do REPORT LIST FROM DECEMBER 2008, and look for the one in regards to Sacraments Emissary. (I believe it's the very first one)

Artisan - Instrument Cases!

Since there are frogges and scabbards and such for melee weapons, I was thinking that a bard would like a case to keep their lovely instrument in when they aren't using it. I personally don't want to keep my lyre on a rack, because then it's so far away that I can't just play it for RP purposes. Also, my guild would probably prefer I keep my pink instrument away from their dark and twisted ones. : P I think a case would be a lovely RP and Utility ability, and give Artisans something to make that more people would utilize.

You could wear the case with a strap across your chest or back, and there could be many ways to design them, to match an individual's RP! I think this would be fun and useful.

A skill idea to improve Appraisement and Diplomacy. At the moment, you cannot appraise how much would be needed to parley if you are not enemied to that org, making it very hard to parley for others. Perhaps make it so that you can appraise even if you are not an enemy, or perhaps you can ASK how much will get for .

Astrogaze or Astralgaze. A new skill in Astrology that... could best be described as a combination of Prints and Scan. When you use it, you'll be notified how many of each "type" of individual is around, so doing an Astralgaze on Celestia would give you something like this.

"You cast your eyes to the sky and conclude that there are:
Five fated shards.
Four cherubs.
Three devas.
Two angels.
And an Archangel in a partridge tree"

Astrology already has Astrosense, which is nifty enough. I'm thinking it should be put in one of those poor skills that have even less utility.

It's actually Astrosense that made me think about this new skill. It's fun, not powerful but nifty to have and fits the flavour of the skill. The only other I could think of that should get something similar would be Healing, but that deserves to get to find out who is there, ala Scent, which will make it far more difficult to get approved because Scent is really powerful.

Yeah, but this specific ability has no flavour basing in those skills. I'm not disagreeing with you, just trying to add something nifty to Astrology because compared to Tarot, it's lackluster in fun utility.

Neither am I disagreeing with you on the idea, but actually, I feel that Astrology has got quite a bit of utility. Astrosense, Astroglide, and Sphere buffs. I'm just saying that there are other skills which actually have no utility, and would better benefit from them.

Then start making skills for them? The Astrology buffs aren't fun (spheres) or terribly useful (astroglide) or even unique (astrosense is basically scry/window enchantment). So I'm making something that I feel could be nice for Astrology.

Which reminds me, I might have a runic idea.

Runic portal, similar to sonic portal in crystalism from the other games where you can create a gate between two individuals at the cost of some runes. It'll be like Teleport and Summon in one quicker, nopower-cost package. Still stopped by movement or monolith though.

I like the idea of Runic Portal. Even better if you can customise it in other ways. Make it a Prophecy ability too.

The default would be like a 2 minute gate, same Plane only, no power cost. About 5-10 runes seems appropriate for that.

You could customise it (like with Illusions, FORETELL TRAVELPROPHECY ). If you foretell to someone one plane adjacent, there's a 2 power cost, 2 planes, 4 power etc. For every 5 extra minutes theres a 1 power cost, and maybe more runes as well.

So you've got:

Quick port for no power
Long gate (50 minutes total) somewhere on your Plane
Quick journey to adjacent plane for low power
Long gate to Ethereal/Elemental for high power
Quick gate to Cosmic/Astral for high power

Thoughts? Seems different enough and weak enough to not be exploited

I don't know about you all, but I'm mildly surprised that even though runes and tarot are considered fortune-telling skills in the Histories, not much about that aspect comes up in the skills. When I say fortune-telling, I mean along the lines of Nativity and NexusWorlds in Astrology.
