Doortravel. Put a rune on one door and then a matching rune on another door. Then, when activated, the rune temporarilly changes where the doorway goes. Must be on the same plane.
Manse Anchor...An artifact or ability that allows one to tesseract back to one's manse. Must be on prime or ethereal to work, must be docked on prime aetherdock.
There IS a skill in Artifacts that lets you go to your furniture from any plane...It's the Trans skill, the special artisan skill. The artisan bonds to a piece of furniture, and they can return to it from any plane for 5 power.
New furniture idea that would be nice, is an instrument display case.
Instruments in an instrument display case don't decay. Some musicians may like having one of each instrument, and maestro them one at a time, or maybe they'd just like to collect them.

I didn't read all 11 pages before this, so I'm sorry if someone already said it.
It would be really useful to have some sort of toggle when using waterwalk that tells you when you have crossed from land to water or vice versa.
I find that I tend to randomly end up in the ocean while wandering around the Arysian islands or Toranada tidal flats. Without waterwalk I just get the "You have to swim" message. With it I have no way to tell if I'm about to step into the water or not.
And yes, I understand that I could just buy zMUD and use the automapper, but this isn't really any more than a minor nuisance. It's just something I would appreciate.

Nother new artifact/furniture idea:
Doorbell.
Let's the manse owner (and those on perms of the doorbell) be able to tell when someone enters the manse.
Would be nice if Artisans could make doors as well.

To be equivalent in price to what they are now, they'd need to be like 400 wood/steel or something crazy.

An ORDER command, usable by undersecretaries and such on guild novices.
Verithrax has ordered you to do LEARN 15 MUSIC FROM VERITHRAX; type ACCEPT to continue.

One problem though would be newbies thinking that that was the only way to learn...

Suggest would sound less imposing, and wouuld show that you can just type that yourself if you want, but this is a quicker way.

Pluck - a dreamweaver ability to take an embedded mote out of a demesne. Takes the same balance time as embedding.
(Not sure if it should actually give you the mote back, or if it should just destroy the mote in the embedded room, but it would be really nice if we could switch what motes were in a room without dissolving our demesne...)
I suppose Lift for a runists would be nice as well...

Perhaps dampening affects too without dissolving, like stonewalls or deluge in certain rooms.
I also think instrument cases or display cases would be great, perhaps have it only be able to hold three instruments so not every instrument could be held there, maybe make it so only maestro instruments can

Have demesne-wide messages to show when demesne effects fade away.
Also, maybe for Changeself Illusions the ability to store different descriptions for the different races so your description changes when you do the illusion. It's annoying to have to do it all manually.

Not everyone can do that, so it's nice to have a game-coded equivalent for it.
Genos2006-10-21 15:20:07
Then you have to have a trigger to change it back when it fades away, or someone dispells it from you, or if you die, or if you logoff. It would just be easier to have it coded into the game already.

It also adds more bulk to the game's database

Sylphas2006-10-22 08:19:07
If you don't change your description, it's just not a strong enough illusion that it would fool anyone looking directly at you and examining you. If you do, you made it a bit stronger that time.
Sylphas2006-10-23 19:33:57
It would be neat for illusions to have an affliction that turns someone's ANSI color off. It won't affect systems with client side highlights and such, but it'll throw a lot of people totally off, and would be neat and unique.
Along the same lines, maybe an illusion to set their linewrap to 40 characters. That actually would screw with systems.

The problem I see with this is that it would then encourage the use of emotes as illusions. In fact, I see very little other use for it beyond that.
