Oh how wrong we are
Chade2006-11-22 07:50:08
Should really have waited then, just unruned my Katana and switched from Pureblade to Blademaster because I hated the monotony of leg leg leg head, hope I haven't screwed up here

No rupturing stomachs or gashing cheeks or severing phrenics or lacerating arms and legs or furrowing brows for you then, I guess tongue.gif Dunno, we tried to give them useful afflicts on all body parts, though arms are impossible to put good afflicts on beyond amputate =\\ If the PB changes aren't enough, then we'll get more changes envoyed. Smaller steps at a time is better than doing too much, IMO. Along with the poison change, what we did should be good. If it isn't, tweaking will happen.

ANNOUNCE NEWS #680

From: Roark Libertas
To : Everyone
Subj: Updates (Mostly for Warriors)

I just loaded the following updates. Most of them impact warriors,
especially Axelord and Pureblade.

+ Green and Gedulah should be usable while prone.
+ Two handers have a higher poison rate.
+ Magnetize in telekenesis is less effective on two-handed weapons.
+ Power attacks for warriors should not consume power if they miss. It
will be prorated for multi-strike skills that have some hits and some
misses (like haymaker).
+ The cleanse Enchantment and Elementalism spell should wash off
slickness.
+ Slice ear should cause dizziness more quickly than before plus a
little bit of bleeding.
+ Cracking the elbow of an arm with an already-cracked elbow will break
it even more and cause some bleeding.
+ Cracking the kneecap of a leg with an already-cracked kneecap will
break it even more and cause the target to stumble.
+ Pureblade and Axelord should have laceration wounds instead of the
artery wounds, cured by yarrow.
+ Pureblade now has a rupture stomach wound instead of septic wound,
cured by regeneration.
+ Pureblade now has a gash cheek wound instead of sliced forehead, cured
by marjoram.
+ Axelord now has a sever spine wound instead of septic wound, cured by
regeneration.
+ Axelord now has a shatter jaw wound instead of scalp, cured by
mending.
+ Axelord now has a ringing ears attack instead of slice ear.

Penned by My hand on the 21st of Roarkian, in the year 162 CE.

I will note that a few more PB/AL changes ARE on the way - this isn't all of them (though it's most).

So, whats the change to green have to do with pureblades? Just curious, so I can understand.

They now have a 75% base afflict rate, so the change went in to fix the problem of slittendonlocks being completely uncurable.

EDIT: Making slitthroat a smoking cure was not doable, so the two changes to slitlock were a second solution to the problems with it.
Daganev2006-11-27 01:29:24
Ahh prone means all things pronelike... got it.

Three cheers for Ciaran and his quick changes to his zmud system *nudge nudge*

Umm go envoys! And special thanks to Ethelon and Geb for their great suggestions for PB's
Edit- and to Shorlen for his lacerations smile.gif

Don't worry to much about rupture stomach though, with 30% add to wounding and a 522 prc sword it is insanely rare to get. So it won't be a giant factor in deaths, the bleeding is nice when you do get it though.
Shryke2006-11-27 06:52:15
Yes, the new affs for PB's are laughable, really, in this report they got nerfed (no more slitlocks), rupture gut is ok bleeding, but hunger is pretty weak, it took me down (hunger) 1 level and I'm size 3...

Lacerations do nice bleeding though, to be honest, they could be interesting to stack with a BM... arteries/lacerations/niricol/senso/stupidity, lotso herb cures...
Cheers for no power loss on misses!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The slitlock, they whined about for a long time... so that was coming, but PB's not really nerfed... you have to realize big C that you are a warrior, and with athletics you have constitution... hunger will stack it will take you down 1 level each time I hit you with it... so think of me with that vomit venom, stacking hunger and vomiting on a mage/druid/cosmic

The only sad thing is... getting rupture stomach is like getting a behead from hack down... I mean I had you to what like 10k wounds on your gut and only got rupture stomach one time???

I see and hear so much potential in the new afflictions. It is unfortunate for you that you are on a strict Niricol diet, or you would too.

How many hits does it take to get someone down to starving?

Slice gut does seem to come up a lot, but then again that is why we have manuevers. Did you create a manuever just for that wound affliction, or did you use normal jabs?

Think it would take at least 3 rupture stomachs to get down to starving

No haven't made the manuever for it yet Geb, this is just on basic tests with assaults and strikes/cleaves... not with manuevers involved.... Problem is with manuevers if I make one just for that wound affliction, you know how many rolls it takes, and if you set it to one affliction you have a better chance of missing than you do of getting that one affliction... but I will make my manuever for it soon... was just doing basic tests earlier...

Now gash cheek is funny, if you can stack it with scabies or something it may have potential... smile.gif
Shorlen2006-11-27 07:35:26
Remember that you can set a hack maneuver to cause like, severtendon and rupture gut, and then use hack up, just so you don't get something worthless if you hit the gut instead of the legs *shrugs* Dunno. You can also just add rupturegut to any of your jab maneuvers that you already have, for when you know their gut is really wounded already.

Three hits to starving is good, IMO. Dunno if that's what it is or not. It might be four at the moment, which may be a tidbit too many, but might as well see how it goes first.

Two hits would be a bit too few, in my opinion.
Ildaudid2006-11-27 08:57:04
Ill test some with Geb tomorrow, but yeah all my hacks and slashes have alternates in case I dont hit the body part I am trying to hit... but I will make a special strike/cleave gut for rupturestomach and see how often it hits when I get it down to critical. Will work on it in a day or two... but I like it so far the bleeding when you pull off the stomach is nice, laceration has some nice bleeding, not sure about slice ear and not much bleeding with gash cheeck but the balance thing seems to hit alot until its cured... Hmmm need to see the heavysword thing... or was that not passed
