The rage thing is so utterly minor. This is probably the first and last time you'll get raged this RL year. The fact you're complaining about a 30 second invincibility skill (and then going with the "try being a bard" line - yeah, well, you try being a monk, move to Celest or something) just says it all.

You know, people complain about us so much.. but what exactly is the problem? No coherrent issue is being raised.. all i read is nerf100x without discussing what the actual problem is.. and no, you getting owned by bards does not constitute a coherent discussion of the problem at hand.. And -- not being as good a basher as a bard is also not a valid objection as most of the nerfs being done are for the pvp side of things..

So, excuse me? whats the problem again with bards? bleargh..

at least with monks, people talk in more details.. about ppk, the chaindrags, etc.. etc..

The problem, generally, is Bards do ridiculous damage. At least, that is what you will read about mostly. Glamours was never a huge argument so I'm not positive why that was nerfed and not damage, but it was. The envoys talk alot where we can't here them, so I'm sure they have their reasons.

Ok, WTF?

1) Tripleflash worthless because of Rage? How about the rest of the game that can't hit you WHILE YOU'RE HITTING THEM? Pansy.

2) Envoys are not for fixing things. Envoys are for suggesting priorities for rebalancing. Coders are for fixing things. The command is BUG.

3) Near-invincibility with one effectively spammable damage attack over another isn't a huge difference. It's OP, no matter which way you spin it. I hope you don't want sympathy just because you have power attacks.

Well, if that is indeed the case -- it is odd to nerf glamours and acrobatics..

and im not talking about the envoys.. what im talking about are people who cry for nerfs when they cant even pinpoint what it is their problem is.. -- i suspect they jsut got defeated yet again by a bard because they didnt know how to use lolgust and loltackle then immediately come in here to complain about the outrageous 'damage' done to them under octave..

The problem is having the fastest affliction rate in the game combined with the highest damage per second in the game. Even if both are manageable, that's not balance.

If you want to know why glamours instead of damage took a hit, talk to the two "DON'T NERF ME WAAAH!" bard envoys. That's the one they wanted, not the other.

These are the problems with bards, as perceived by many.

1. They did a lot of damage per attack.

2. They gave that damage very quickly. Bards were placed at a 3 second base balance recovery on their damage attacks as compared to 4 seconds for other magic damage classes.

3. Glamours, though it had a small easily seen set of afflictions, gave them very quickly along with multiple stacking from things like maelstrom, rainbowpattern, and colorburst.

4. Have a bunch of hindering that includes something that steals equilibrium, something that keeps a person from being able to go blind for a long period of time (which also increased the number of afflictions given by the abilities I stated in number 3), and they could transfix with near impunity (because of the ability to keep a person from being blind for long periods of time).

So, when you added it all together, Bards were doing more damage and more afflictions faster than any other affliction or damage class. They essentially had the best of both worlds once they took up Glamours. So that is why many people felt bards needed some sort of downgrade on their abilities.

Now now, people. I think we can give into reason and agree with Daedalion here.

Tripleflash -should- work like prismatic barrier! ...... aaaaand just like serpent we'll let it fall upon his attack. Problem solved.

anyway, this is the last reply im gonna do for this.. it seems people have set their heads in stone with regards to us.. and why would i even talk to envoys.. people bring their grievances here and cry for nerfs in the forums, so im gonna asnwer here.. and why dont people talk to their own envoys instead and try to recommend some skill that will help their own class?

however, its not the 'iwin' button people make it out to be you know.. and with words like 'takes no skill'.. please... as if the basin is cowering in fear of us.. as if being a bard is enough to win.. or even as if belonging to a particular class is enough to win *sadshake*

The bard nerfwhiners are idiots.

Bards are a weak class, unless you're fighting idiots or novices.
It's quite easy to burn about 20 power per fight, ultimately doing nothing to an opponent.

At least when Guardians or Wiccans burn power on their skills, it's aiming towards a viable kill.
With bards, you spam your power away and hope the opponent dies.
And no, I'm not an idiot, before Forren claims 'you're an idiot, you can't fight, you're spamming useless crap', because, honestly, mages are better than bards.
The only difference is that bards have a better chance of escaping in a pinch, and they do more damage so they get more kills in groups.

The ones whining for nerfs are largely uninformed, though, and that's more problematic.

You know quite well that's not true in the least. Rage and Terror are far more useful than people make them out to be (though Glom rarely has a suitable Terror coven going).

That said, I believe the tripleflash nerf was mentioned in a recent bugfix/envoy report - you can't dodge attacks if you don't know where they're coming from or even that they're coming. Makes sense to me.

I can GUARANTEE you that if someone was to ragecoven me, I will know for a fact that a few more moonbursts-from-afar are about to hit.
