hunger works against anyone who doesn't have food if they don't leave. And it doesn't work against anyone who has food or does leave. So, hunger works just fine on any tier. It's the leaving tier fighters you have to worry about?

In all honesty, there are very few songs that could fit into that slot and you're not going to get sleep since the Spiritsingers already do.

I'll assume you didn't think too much about what you were saying or extrapolate it out that far though.

Hrm... how to simplify it? -- "By suggesting it needs replaced, and mentioning that you think damage would be better, in essence - you are suggesting just that."

There you are Celina, be sure to bold and capitalise things. That makes you right, remember.
Okay!

Contradiction ftw?

You said replace hunger with damage!
I realize she didn't say replace hunger with damage!
You suggested replacing hunger with damage!

I made a comparison between the bard guilds. You know something like "Guild 1 has this ability, while guild 2 has this ability. 2 dosen't seem to work as well as 1. Perhaps we could change it?"

Now do you understand?
Hyrtakos2008-01-18 21:30:39
Are you getting on me because you didn't realize what you, in essence, did? You might not have come out and said it -- but it was implied. Crucify me for my lack of vocabulary in not saying that in the first place? Or wait... I did only say that you "suggested" it in the first place.

When people nudge you "suggestively" in game, did they really come right out and say anything?

Regardless, my point was that you undervalue hunger attrition -- which you clearly do.
Acrune2008-01-18 21:40:23
Whooooooo caaaaaares. Argue over the effectiveness of hunger if you want, but arguing over if celina wants a certain song to be replaced with a damage boost is just stupid tongue.gif
Myndaen2008-01-18 21:40:52
Indeed. I say we strike hunger attrition entirely. I hate having to spend gold on things that'll disappear in the arena. tongue.gif

more hunger, more boon for any people with trade of cook. smile.gif

no hunger, no boon for any people with that same said trade.

so, let greedy cooker profit off on you. biggrin.gif That the reason why Cooker exists. find them, buy the foods, and do well eat it if you are hungry.
Xenthos2008-01-19 01:19:20
Metahunger already exists (or used to). Hooray for Constitution.

(I'm not sure if it still does this, being >80, but Constitution used to cut hunger loss to nearly nothing.)

Consciousness is nice, too.
Enero2008-01-19 01:41:44
And LowMagic orange...
Acrune2008-01-19 01:45:09
I've never seemed to have much success with orange. Maybe it adds 30 seconds or so to the time before I pass out again, or something equally unnoticeable while you're running away from all of Magnagora while starving to death.
Shiri2008-01-19 01:45:50
Play nicely, everyone.

Also, level 80 doesn't reduce the effects of hunger at all. And only one archetype has constitution. Orange is temporary, costs power, and was nerfed specifically for the cacophony's benefit.

Removing hunger and sleep because they're too good and inevitable is best. Spiritsingers are already working on that, as Lendren says, so now it's up to someone to think of a better mechanical theme for cacophony music than "eventually I win."

Maybe a song that afflicts with disease/death type afflictions? Pox, scabies, rigo, and such randomly. I don't know, it's hard to come up with something that isn't totally useless but also isn't going to make bards even more powerful. That and I get berated for any ideas or suggestions I come up with because it's "whining" instead of trying to fix it. Good luck Saddim!

It doesn't fill you up, silly, it stops you from getting hungry. (Well, it used to. Now it just makes you get hungry slower.)

Trans chef with spatula for hire. Preserved food lasts twice as long!

I'm sorry, but pre-Glamours, bards were crap.
There are no tarot or ecology bards.

Glamours is like a bandage over a festering wound.
There's no skill synergy. Combat revolves around spamming enough colourburst until you're able to minorsecond someone to death. Threnody is almost impossible. I'd imagine it's largely the same for the other guilds, except possibly Cantors seeing as they have recessional. Music specs need to be stronger, or we need viable alternative methods of killing (incresing earache time would be a good start).

Perhaps you aren't doing it right cause I can kill people with Dirge no problem. It takes effort and isnt super OMG easy or quick but it is far from impossible.

I thought it just kept you from passing out for a time. So you should use orange before you get hungry? confused.gif
Shiri2008-01-19 03:13:18
It's like your hunger value would be 0/100, it temporarily suspends you at 100 for 30 seconds, then puts you back to wherever you were before (i.e 0.)
Xavius2008-01-19 04:28:04
What? No. Orange halves the rate at which you get hungry. Doesn't do a thing for you if you're already passing out.

EDIT:
Syntax: INVOKE ORANGE
Power: 1 (Any)
When your belly is empty, you will suffer the pangs of hunger. Invoking
the colour orange into your aura will temporarily halve any increases in
the amount of hunger you feel.
