After actually trying this, it makes no sense at all. Springup no longer requires arm balance, which is a great change. For some bizarre reason, it now requires leg balance. Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose?

Druid demesnes are nice in group combat mostly because there are few respectable raid leaders around who can keep a group together. I know both Xenthos and I can lead a group through a runic druid demesne. Personally, I consider this to be fine, because it takes a respectable raid leader to actually use the druid demesne effectively. Otherwise, it's not the sort of power that works in group combat as well as the mage demesnes.

Aeon is an outright death condition in an organized group. Wane really is the heart of the Seren zerg. Will sap be the same? Yup. Surprisingly enough, it already is.

This provides one (1) upgrade for druidic combat, which Ashteru already hit on--the ability to use sap when jumped with less prep time than before. The rest of the time, we already have a timed demesne, so it's a non-issue.

Now, before you freak, I agree that the change is unneeded, and a dozen people have already said why it was made. This is more a note to you to actually think about the stuff you type. I seem to be writing a fair number of these to you lately.


It's funny that each time you write something like this and comment about how I don't think before I write, you end up being mistaken. I disagree that aeon is a death condition, as others have said. I don't mean to say that druids are OP or anything either. However, within their demesne, a single druid can do a great deal of damage to an entire group on their own. I don't think anything you said really related to what I said; we seem to be agreeing on everything except for aeon.

Actually, leg balance makes more sense as being an issue than armbalance (I can jump up with my arms off balance, but my legs..?)

The intent of this fix, as I see it, wasn't realism but utility. Therefore, it seems like an oversight to use one of our slots to make this skill no more useful than it was. tongue.gif

I dunno about everyone else, but I always find myself recovering leg balance first. Better hope you've got a nice ping so you can springup before your arms recover and fire the next combo? :S

You're right. Kick balance was sped up so that weapon stats actually meant something; kick is always faster than the fastest possible monk weapons so the weapons are always the deciding factor in the speed of your forms.

I personally get about half of a second between my leg balance and arm balance during which I could spring up...I could always try to write code to spring up as soon as I recover leg balance, but of course that is also a pain since there is no prompt marker for leg balance (non-existent monk envoys should fix that).

Quite apart from all the -bugs- being fixed, I'm really pleased that we actually got such a large list that they WERE all fixed. I think a lot of people appreciate that, so I hope it didn't take enough time to justify not doing it again. Thanks, Morgfyre!

Using that locks monks into a specific harmony combination, so it's not necessarily likely that they'll use it all the time. Also, they're not immune to it; you can still get them just by guessing (SDs in particular can do this without much trouble) based on how messed up they are. It's harsher, but the spirit mantras should be good.
