Subj: Warrior Envoy

As promised, here is the Warrior segment of the July envoy report:

-- RuptureStomach is now a Heavy-state wound.
-- A pierced leg will cause a person to, on %, have a chance to fail
trying to stand up.

Penned by My hand on the 1st of Dvarsh, in the year 182 CE.

About the pierced leg thing, would be more useful if Blademasters actually had a skill that knocked down (legtendon already prevents standing).

I envoyed the pierced leg thing a month or two ago, though it seems it was changed to be a percentage chance and not a guaranteed thing. That's fine, I guess. I was going to suggest next that the leg tendon thing knock a person prone, but the leg tendon affliction is already kinda nasty. It's not as bad as a pinned leg, though.

Try tackling, putting them to sleep, or something. There are other ways to knock a person down other than swinging a weapon at them. Be creative!

I believe leg tendon does indeed prone.

It does, yep.

It was reduced to a % chance because pierced leg has, in the past, been a source of complaint regarding warriors.
Ceren2007-07-30 18:52:43
I don't get it. Can't you just spam stand or have your system stand again on every failed attempt? Maybe I'm just reading this wrong.

As already pointed out, legtendon does already prone. But the thing is, legtendon already prevents standing, so even that won't be much help.
I didn't think of tackling, but that seems to be a waste of your own balance.
Sleep, same as with tackling, I'd rather spend my sword poisoning chance with poisons that actually is useful (most people have insomnia/kafe/perhaps metawake).
Unknown2007-07-31 10:50:05
Yeah. I must've been thinking of something other than legtendon and still don't know what. I don't have access to what I wrote on the Envoy board any more, so I can't remember exactly what it was now.

My point still stands, however, that there are many creative ways to use your abilities that you just may not have discovered yet. wink.gif

If you can manage to get them to not cure the sliced gut, they'll slip in their own blood. ninja.gif

It's nice imagery. Sliced open gut was a fun one to add to the system.

kafe is negligible to warrior sleeping. even if you double morphite, you'll never strip kafe because the damage wakes them and stripping kafe requires them to be asleep then hit with sleep again. And actually for a blademaster I think double morphite is pretty decent when you lock them in pinleg. And as much as I want a willowisp, druid cudgel has some priority out of the things people have listed so far in my opinion.
Sylphas2007-08-02 02:13:57
You totally missed the point. If they fall asleep, they go prone, doesn't matter if they wake up instantly, they still fell down.
Hyrtakos2007-08-02 05:59:57
does pierced leg stop things like leaping? that would be a nice change as well, and logical. i remember leaping all around estelbar with flaca and some others chasing me back in the day and couldn't believe the blocking/pierced leg combo didn't keep me pinned in.

ruptured stomach change tho... mmm mm mm. no debating purebladers as -the- premier attrition warfare warriors now. i never really bothered with it before having to jump from light to critical and having nothing in between. biiig thumbs up on that one

Does leap have the same restrictions as tumble?
Shiri2007-08-02 11:43:26
You can't leap while hindered. (webbed, paralysed etc.)
Hyrtakos2007-08-02 16:45:16
yes, many things prevent leaping. i was just thinking a messed up leg would be one of them. i wouldn't even mind seeing tackling, some of the acrobatic jumps, and other things that require a bit of "uumph" from the legs disabled by it as well. i used the estelbar example because i couldn't tumble... until about a week ago ^^

Subj: Shofangi Updates

+ Weapon runes will now work on a shofa blade: stats, damage type, and
bleed. The wounding rune will not work. I will be updating the
associated help file soon to explain the details.
+ Bullrage is replaced with a new bullrage; see the AB help file.
+ Kick is faster to allow for shofa speed to be meaningful in forms.
+ Fixed bug where you could initiate two forms at the same time.
