AHAHAHAHA.

QUOTE
Syntax: JINX
Power: 2 (Any)
A jinx is a powerful curse that jinxes a person's body and turns it
against them, causing it to resist their actions. This curse is only
effective against victims with 3 or more mental afflictions already
plaguing them, and is negated by the time-altering effects of aeon (and
similar curses). Unlike normal ailments, being jinxed has no specific
cure, but is instead cured by curing all of the mental maladies of the
victim, at which point the jinx will dissipate.

I am going to abuse this so hard.

Yeah. Now I'll actually use LightCantata as my Cantor.

Yay for perfect fifth upgrade.......
HA.... sad.gif

The dodge/parry while prone is huge though. It actually gives me a 1s window to behead on people who cure well. Minor yay.
Unknown2007-07-28 01:34:13
Upgrade? More like fix, it doesn't make sense to have it cured for just trying to leave the room. All in all pleased with this report.
Krellan2007-07-28 01:37:15
minor upgrade too. Previously eating earwort and putting up deafness would cure it as well. Now it requires that plus leaving the room, like it originally did. On the plus side the whole if you tumble while deaf and they blanknote before finishing, it used to keep you attracted, but you can still finish the tumble which is nice. was perfect fifth intended to stop magical means of travel too? because if so, it's pretty buggy on that.

So, jinx is like aeon?
Ashteru2007-07-28 01:44:07
Someone check if the fix to monkdamage included a cap!

jinx is a perma stupidity until all afflictions cured. It's almost exactly what Malarious was talking about during his whole nihilist hexen thread about a curse. The only difference is that jinx does not have a separate cure.

I dislike how I can't tell what all the mental afflictions are, since all afflictions cured by focus mind are not all mental afflictions and afflictions not cured by focus mind can be. I need to figure out what can be used sometime.
Theomar2007-07-28 01:54:35
Ouch. Good addition for hexists.
Krellan2007-07-28 02:01:23
it's decent for Nihilists who have their demon and tail to help dish out more important afflictions, it's okay for shadowdancers cause succumb is just really nice to use whenever you can mess someone up for a few seconds. it's not so great for moondancers who have to spend the several seconds lashing, in the meantime which, they aren't continually hindering or adding to the jinx. Though I suppose the crone beats the slaugh when it comes to mental afflictions. Still the the advantage goes to SD's with passive mana drain on this.

It won't be much good for MDs because of the stipuation for aeon.

that's pretty much what I said. I'm pretty sure it applies to choke as well, but still, with a perma stupidity you can mess people up long enough for succumb to tick away I think. There's a shot of it anyways. I think there might even be more chance than a Nihilist who has to use amissio and requires a proned target to wrack. But then again I don't know demon afflictions very well besides the common vapors, shcackles, stupidity, anorexia

Nihilist can use Leech to get the mana and if the demon shoots the shackles they can trigger it to do wrack since shackles causes prone... there's also paralysis freaked.gif

I think this is good for nihilists
Furien2007-07-28 03:35:51
I originally put to increase the lower-level damage for Monks, so don't expect anything like that. It didn't seem to increase too much, anyways.

In fact, when I asked for feedback:

(Aspirants en-Ghanjir): Nejii says, "Initial combo: 200 damage, crit wounds combo: 4000 damage."
(vs. Lisarel)

The Jinx idea was mainly to help out Nihilist hexen, and it doesn't work in choke. (In fact, I think walking into choke will cure the Jinx) but it's nice to wean Wiccans off of Aeoning so much.

Otherwise, <3 GreatPent change.
Malarious2007-07-28 04:09:51
I will repeat some things already said on Jinx.

-Yes it it only curable by curing mental ailments, no I dont have the list
-Aeon and Choke both cure this, it was intended for hexist Nihilists, while preventing combinations with wiccan delays
-Isnt whammied or doublewhammied
-It should help hexists

Good news! I think if this works as intended, with the change to ectoplasm in blackout, I think I am done touching on Nihilist Hexens. Now for Highmagic to get some love.. unless there are other things that come up.

However if crit wounds lets you do 4K damage.. You -must- have issues giving wounds like knights or that is hideously powerful.

As for Jinx... <3 Estarra, Morgfyre, and all envoys involved.

Thats all for now from me.
Shiri2007-07-28 04:13:26
It takes like 10-20 unhindered combos to get to critical wounds. And by unhindered I mean no applying.
Krellan2007-07-28 04:27:24
takes Sojiro and most others better warriors like two power combos to get that much I think unsure.gif
Shiri2007-07-28 04:33:01
Yeah, monk + warrior = win.
