And from Roark: You can now wrapwidth 0 to turn off Lusternia's autowrapping.

I know this has great significance. I can feel it. I can sense. But I don't how. How is being able to set linewidth 0 significant again?
Laysus2007-06-04 17:38:31
Means lines have no limit, hence no breaks, hence one-line triggers for everything!
Razenth2007-06-04 17:40:56
Really!? Awesome! Does this work for MushClient?

This is a very ineffectual example, but imagine you want to channel all messages on CT to another screen/spawn/textbox. If the Ct message is more than characters long, then it is sent as multiple lines, and it requires more work to code it to catch all the lines up to the end of the message. If it is sent all as one line (using wrapwidth 0) then all you have to do is tell it to start transferring upon, say, (Magnagora): and stop on: ." .

EDIT: And it's serverside, so your client makes no difference at all.

EDIT II: Also, ROARK FOR CREATRIX! party.gif (Yes, I see the irony)

I never understood the whole wrapwidth thing. Cause I am stupid. Now everything looks weird for me, I'm assuming because of the change. Can someone help me out? sad.gif

Well it depends on what you want to do. If you just config wrapwidth 0 in the game then the mud won't handle any wrapping for you at all. This can be good for making triggers and such. But it will not be readable by you unless you tell your client to handle your wordwrapping for you.

So it sounds like you need to tell your client to do your wordwrapping or set the wordwrap in the mud back to something more readable (80 seems usual). How you set it in your client depends on the client you use. If you want to know how in zmud or cmud, PM me. It's simple.

Setting wrapwidth to 0 makes the room descriptions and other random stuff have an indent after the first line. It looks weird, is it supposed to be like this?

Ooh and listofferings is much better now! I didn't realize that you could see how much essence things were worth either, since it always only showed -essence from deaths instead of +essence when I typed 'listofferings'. Mmm, those level 9x are worth a lot... so that's how people get into the millions!
Ayridion2007-06-04 18:09:09
If you use zMUD, and want to have a neat-looking wrapwidth 0, try the following: View -> Preferences -> General -> Word Wrap -> then set to:

Word Wrap
Auto Wrap

Wrap Column
Wrap Indent.
Laysus2007-06-04 18:09:11
Has there also been a change that lines ending with spaces are now trimmed to cut the spaces off? I can't help but notice the sudden need to rework my triggers to take that into account >.>
Daganev2007-06-04 18:38:39
umm, what morgfyre posted, and what fain posted, I think do deserve an announce post....

* GODFEELINGS now shows godcurses.
* GODFEELINGS now shows your Order's bonds/emnities, if you have any.
* LISTOFFERINGS now prepends, so the most recent offerings will be first.
* LISTOFFERINGS is now searchable, by by doing LISTOFFERINGS whateveryoursearchstring is.

Awesome.

Ethelon! Where are you!? If one sets their wordwrap on Mush to 80 (Lus default), and then set Lus wordwrath to 0, can one simply remove all the multiline checks and will everything be the same?
Noola2007-06-04 21:25:26
Is this going to really mess up the free system Ethelon posted to the boards? Cause, I know it's all outdated and all, and just this side of useless - but it's all I've got! I haven't got the know-how to change anything about it! laugh.gif I can't even seem to do the thing where you change the color of something that happens.

Not that I really fight a lot (or much at all!), of course. So, I guess it doesn't really matter either way. laugh.gif

It doesn't change anything unless you change it. If you want, set the wrap to 0, see if it still works, then change it back to 80 (or whatever it was before) if it doesn't.
Forren2007-06-04 21:31:10
If your system is set up for wrapwidth 80, you generally shouldn't change your wrapwidth to 250 or 0. Lots of 80 triggers are set up to trigger on the middle of lines that appear as newlines in wrapwidth 80, so they wouldn't trigger properly if you change the wrapwidth. It should work if you're wrapwidth 250 already, though.

Pretty sure the triggers are processed before Mush's wrapwidth takes effect, so no, you probably can't do that.
Razenth2007-06-04 21:46:15
Oooo, I see. But this makes making bashing triggers SOOOOO much more easier! Huzzah! Praise Roark (and Fain, Morgfyre, and Sior)!
Sylphas2007-06-05 00:57:18
Oh thank the gods. About to start in on another attempt at Lyntin, and this will make things so much simpler.
