@Saran - maybe they had tripleflash up? We can only dodge direct attacks... got a log about it?

I don't believe so, but maybe. It was over a few minutes though, however it still stands that you aren't avoiding the demesne just avoiding the nullification of your shield. At any rate that still extends to being able to dodge a nullify which is my main complaint
@Illd: Not so much, from my perspective I believe they where avoiding while in a circle. So they were avoiding me hitting their circle but not the demesne because it wouldn't hit someone in a circle.

This is not exactly an "informative thread"-- it's mostly posts about envoy announcements.
That would seem to peg you as a spam-bot, especially given the links in your sigs.
Alas, spambots.

Perhaps a new breed. Can we see new spam threads in the future over in real life?

ANNOUNCE NEWS #809
Date: 5/25/2007 at 16:27
From: Morgfyre, the Legion
To : Everyone
Subj: Glamours and Phantasms
We've released the twin specializations of Illusions today: Glamours and
Phantasms!
Glamours is a specialization available only to the Bardic archetype,
while Phantasms is available only for Mages. It is our hope that these
skillsets will be interesting and varied, and provide as much fun for
the players as we had testing them. This entails a few changes:
- All players with Illusions will notice they have lost this skillset
and have been granted the number of lessons they had invested into it.
Thus, you will have to re-learn Illusions and specialize into either
Glamours or Phantasms, or use the lessons elsewhere if you decide not to
take the new skillset.
- Sacraments and Jewelry have both lost their Transfix skills. This is
due to changes brought about by Glamours that makes these skills
overpowered. The Envoys have been working for some time on replacement
skills for these two skillsets, so please send any suggestions you have
to your guild envoy! We will replace these skills as soon as we have
good ideas for them.
- Sixthsense is now on a delay. This means that you will have to wait a
short period of time between eating faeleaf (or using the equivalent
psionics skill) and when you actually gain the defense. The reasons for
this will become more clear as you discover more about Glamours.
- Yes, Ialie, you could probably call Glamours Rainbowmancy if you
really wanted.
Credit for coding Phantasms goes to the amazing Fain, while I brought
you Glamours and the behind-the-scenes work that has quietly deprecated
the old Illusions.
Enjoy!

You need to have a message if you're speaking or whatever while glamoured. Apparently I was Vix for a while there but I didn't notice. :/

But then you'll know when I make into Yrael or something and leave you unsuspectingly at Mother.

Dodging + Circle = no nullify BOOO nerf
Please could dodge atleast work on everything but nullify, It's annoying to have someone in a fully active demesne and there is little you can do until they decide to stop.

If you're talking about the fight with me, which you probably are. I was spamming avoid and had pentagram up, avoid works like timeslip, you hit timeslip before the shield too. With avoid up, you can't move or it dissipates unlike timeslip.
Also about the effects not hitting me, I had pentagram up and they don't go through shield.

Yeah, it's pretty insane.
Keep up blindness, and watch out for that thar sensitivity.

20 int, knowledge/war blessing, darkheart, TF ftw! If the earlier attacks ever mentioned indigo at any point it gave you sensitivity as well.

Hum, Ciaran:whipcrack: didn't notice sensitivity but I think Daedalion was two hitting me earlier aswell. but still, if sensitivity is afflicted how much of that was just the beam of light.
On a similar topic WHYYYY *sniffle* these rainbowmancer gloms(oxymoron?) are doing more damage with pretty lights than I do with glinsharis cudgel.

Druid cudgel sucks badly, I feel your pain. I think once people learn to use faeleaf as a defense then glamours won't be such a problem, though if it still is then I'll work with the others to make it less overpowered if it's still deemed so once people are used to it. The afterimage effect of transfix should probably be shortened as well to balance things out some more.

I've posted suggestions before here, but perhaps the base damage needs a boost.
As for balancing, has anyone been able to test how hard it is for sixthsense and deafness to be kept down? Just wondering... as with colourmaelstrom, reality and a song going, how strong this has made illusion bards?
Sylphas2007-05-26 16:48:39
Glamours does not have Reality anymore. I swear I learned it yesterday, but by the time I tested with Shiri, I didn't.

Apologies, but Reality in Glamours was a mistake, we pulled it out as soon as we realized it was showing in Glamours.

That's funny, since Ialie does more damage than that (2200) without any of those buffs, without sensitivity, without any afflictions to stack, and with me fully deffed. But then again, she is the primal Rainbowmancer Princess.
(Okay, to be fair, she also has a magic damage booster rune, but just that.)

Geb said colourburst did 2k to him, unblind
When I moonbursted him with my 20 int I did 1300 dmg (would have been 10% less with his defs even). So you have a around gifted (?) skill that does more damage than a trans skill -and- 1-2 afflictions. *le sigh*
Ayridion2007-05-26 19:55:59
However, blindness is meant to be a major defence against Illusions, for obvious reasons, and it most definitely is.
