ANNOUNCE NEWS #778
Date: 4/8/2007 at 23:06
From: Sior the Anomaly
To : Everyone
Subj: Envoy Report
Bards:
--------
- TaintedLove will now effect the people on the bards ally and enemy
list. Previously it was only effecting people that had the bard allied.
- MAJORSIXTH has been changed to allow you to PLAY MAJORSIXTH IMBUE to
imbue a location with a personal milestone that only you can return to.
- New skill "Adriotness" in acrobatics, this will allow you to move
faster before getting the "Not so hasty" message.
- Handspring will no longer allow anyone to follow you
- Lowered Octave's power cost from 10 to 3
Wiccans/Guardians:
--------
- Shadowdance Drink in Night is now castable at night, however you will
only recieve the effect in a room with shadows released
- Starleaper will no longer allow someone to follow you, nor allow you
to escape from pits
This is nice... no more starleaping out of pits for tarot bards and gaurdian/wiccan... yay!
- Paralysis is now a possible condition for using torture and wrack
This may be a little too powerful, will have to see how it works in action. But I do like that it will make hexes better for them
Mages/Druids:
--------
- Fling in telekinesis has had its power cost dropped to 3
- If you are stonefleshed, you will not be attacked by mobs
Does the bubble one still let you get hit by mobs? I am going to guess that was fixed earlier or at the same time. I remember Ixion posting when he was floating around in a bubble and he would float into guards and they would attack until he floated out. But that was a while ago.
- Hailstorm Boulderblast damage now scales down with more people in the room
Nice!
- New tracking skill "Cloak", this will allow the user to "cloak" the actions of their dog
This is awesome, finally my dog cannot be seen when I am walking around. Only way I could see it was with IH. I love it!!!
Misc:
--------
- The bonus you get from increased discipline in passive willpower
regeneration has been increased slightly. As well, you will recieve a
bonus for increased discipline while meditating
This will help tracking too
- Death should clear blind/deafness
Yay!
- Fixed a bug where breaking a demense with a druid sapling in it could
cause an untrapped error
Penned by My hand on the 10th of Dvarsh, in the year 173 CE.

Really glad the untrapped error in demesnes got fixed. Raided with Krellan and company once in Etherglom, tried to break Kundu's demesne and got it. Then got yelled at to break it despite me saying 'I can't' and then eventually taking it to tells and saying 'It's an error, I can't.'
Krellan2007-04-09 03:19:00
hey so I wouldn't make an envoy and my knowledge of skills are limited, but the druids need an envoy or an active one! cudgeling is ridiculously weak :/ I got cudgeled as a maggot for under 300 damage and barely over 100 bleeding. I've heard it's really weak against other classes too and so it needs an upgrade!

Hartstone now has one, though the current Envoys will have to be a bit patient with me tonight and tomorrow.
And about Cudgel, because it has a magical source it's blocked by so many things it's not funny. My most amusing time with cudgel was hitting Tael and having him say 'that tickled'. Moondancers get a huge block from it, and those with trans Magic even more so.
edit: Xenthos corrected me on this. It means it's modified by Int, but it doesn't really change. A High Elfen hits the same as an Elfen with Nature Curse. A Shadowcaster Faeling and Faeling with the same will have to show results.
It is blocked by a lot of things, and it's hurting currently when you find those people who are really good against it. Mostly the Moondancers I have trouble with more than anyone, but they're more available to test on. Whether it's because of the armour or not, it's still very low. And seemingly supposed to be made up by bleeding.
Forren2007-04-09 03:24:11
Yes - physical damagetypes are really, really, really easily blocked.
Krellan2007-04-09 03:27:30
not to mention the fact that druids don't even get a room attack. So they're not even close to being as on par as a mage. Hrm what kind of change would make their damage better?
Xenthos2007-04-09 03:35:59
My take on cudgel: It's so lacking in many respects because the bleeding, when the target is in a saplock, adds up quickly. However, this was with the old sap, before its time was halved. Now it's much, much harder to keep someone in a saplock. The cudgel itself has not changed since then.
Yes, the bleeding is supposed to make up for the lesser damage-- the overall formula is supposed to be equivalent to the Mage staves, but the damage type and the random bleeding mean that out of sap, it's far less. In sap/choke/aeon, it's "more" (the bleeding isn't instantly cured, so it stacks/adds up and does more damage over time).
There's been some discussion about changing the damage types, and Kaervas was discussing guild-specific cudgels, but the whole thing kind of petered out.

well it needs to be talked about by the other envoys because pentu isn't around and shorlen isn't an envoy anymore. TH ebleeding SUCKS too. as a maggot when I said above maybe 107 or 125 bleeding tops. under 300 damage as a maggot. i did not have kingdom up I had basic non power defenses so no drawdown.
Kaervas2007-04-09 09:11:39
The guild specific cudgel thing is still there, it's just waiting on the Hartstone to come up with their ideas for it.
Ashteru2007-04-09 09:39:44
Cudgel in sap makes me laugh. <.<
Ashteru2007-04-09 09:40:18
Sheesh.

I'll be looking at it more today.

Goo Dylara! Druids really should be on par with Mages :/ From what I heard Fury and Storm are... laughable too compared to hailstorm and maelstrom / ... (What's it called for Geo's again?)

While I'd have to see what Maelstrom and I think it's called Polution do , Storm was never meant as an equilivant to Hailstorm/Boulderblast. Storm is a 100% electrical demesne effect.

Yes, the Geomancer version is called Pollute. I've never used it myself, but from my understanding the thing that makes it truly powerful is the fact that our demesnes are already so offensive. If we time Pollute to hit immediately after demesne effects, then throw in a couple of staff casts for good measure, most people will die. If it's not timed correctly, though, it's not nearly as useful.

100% electrical eh? Nice.

Less-nice without a demesne doing damage, unfortunately (and without an area attack)-- but it might still have its uses.

Just probe it. It has a decay time.
