Umm.

The change just says that vapors no longer prones on the first hit, but not only does it not prone, it doesn't blackout either, which is kinda the entire point of the skill.

3054h, 4269m, 3297e, 10p, 14170en, 20245w ex-draw hex vapors
You trace glyphs in the air, and they begin to glow ominously.
3054h, 4089m, 3297e, 10p, 14170en, 20225w x-
You have recovered equilibrium.
3054h, 4089m, 3297e, 10p, 14170en, 20225w ex-hex me with vapors
Shamarah grabs some glowing glyphs and throws them at you.
3054h, 3909m, 3297e, 10p, 14170en, 20205w x-

So, yeah, that makes it basically useless. Fix plz? Just change it to do what the report says and just not prone - it should still blackout or it's utterly pointless.

Why are you able to test your own skills on yourself so easily like that? tongue.gif

Sip anatine.

I really like the vapors change. It was a fine affliction the way it was. It was given that absurd and beastly upgrade because hexes had no means of masking afflictions. Now that it does, I'm incredibly happy to see vapors returned to its proper state.
Sylphas2007-04-02 23:22:05
Who used vapors for anything beyond the initial blackout?

Krellan.

6x vapor hexes + trample.

Also, 6x vapor hexes in every air room, stopped flying in the area.
Razenth2007-04-03 00:05:40
Using my angel on myself...

First hit of vapors did nothing except give the affliction. Alone, it would still randomly black you out, just wouldn't do it right away. Once you have the affliction though, a second vapors hit would immediately give blackout. So guardians can still use scourge/wrath and double invest vapors to make an instant blackout. But it still cuts into our offense.

Um, no, it's an absolutely worthless affliction. It blackouts randomly and it usually takes a good 30-45 seconds to tick. The only reasons to use it were for the initial blackout/prone.
Furien2007-04-03 00:20:34
Ahhh, sustain. Now I don't have to worry about certain nameless people jumping me, and me promptly running around like a berserk, singing chicken to get my song effects up.

Well, I meant without the prone too, since I didn't realize it did that. The actual affliction isn't that great.
Krellan2007-04-03 11:04:11
I knew it got changed because of me!!! sad.gif i miss trample already
Tael2007-04-03 11:43:28
Great. Way to take away 60% of Vapours' usefulness. Now there is no way to stop people from flying in, kicking villagers, and just leaving. glare.gif

And yeah, the fact that it's not blacking out is NOT good. You take away most of Hexes' usefulness and most of my tactics away by getting rid of the Blackout. I hope it's just a bug.
Ildaudid2007-04-03 13:05:48
I read it as prone only, but since it doesn't give blackout is that bug?

Not that I don't mind angels not whoring me with blackout, I kinda enjoy it. But if it's a bug, please get it fixed so people aren't so pissed about it.

I understand why hex users don't like it now.

But hey ADDICTION is a mean son of a bitch now ha!! So swap up and use that

There are other options, the problem was Vapors was too powerful at knocking people out of the sky. And what was envoyed was the removal of the prone so it should be a bug that there's no blackout now.

Then make aerial guards? I'm sorry, but I'm not the only Serenwilder getting fed up with people kicking villagers and then running away.

@Ild: No, Addiction is just a poor man's anorexia now. It's better, yeah.. and if I was afflicting to someone to hell, maybe I'd use it.. Still like Anorexia more.

You're not giving the new addiction enough credit.
Unknown2007-04-03 16:01:37
How does it work, exactly? I thought addiction would make you randomly sip twice, regardless of whether you have balance or not. Does it actually chase balances? So it'll doublesip and then wait for you to get sip balance then sip again?

And is the balance time from any sipping, or just addiction-caused sipping? Speaking of which, last time I checked clot in TK doesn't actually increase elixir balance, even with four clots. I'd need to check again to see if it got change/fixed, though.

Okay. How about I run into Acknor every ten minutes, kick a villager, and run before any of you can do anything. Then I'll go defile a shrine, and then when you go back there to see about the shrine.. I'll kick a villager again. Believe me, it gets repetitive and the offender knows who they are. Charune maggoted Daedalion ( Not who it is ) for doing it once, and even Yini when she did it once. I stopped doing it after one time because I found put first hand how annoying it is. If you're going to make the citizens scream over an aether, at least kill them instead of running away.. ( Which Veyda does.. so I don't really mind him ). There is a difference between raiding and just trying to be a pain in the rear.

As for the new Addiction.. It's not spectacular, sorry. I think it's a nice improvement, just don't expect me to use it. I have more important hexes to use in my set. I'm not going to get rid of it's credit for other classes, I'd just much rather use Anorexia.

@Requiem: Not positive, but I was told it's for health, mana, and bromides only. If it also delayed Quicksilver and Phlegmatic sipping, I would like it more. But I was told that it doesn't.

I'm well aware of how annoying it is. Serenwilde isn't the only org to suffer these tactics.

What stops you combining them?

As for whether or not Addiction is spectacular, I wouldn't know about how it works for whatever class you are.. but it's a nifty buff for telepaths - see my comments on the previous page.

The vapors "fix" is a bug. It's useless now, and it needs to not be that way. Blackout is essential to Celestine combat and you can still overcome it. I don't fancy the thought having to waste 10 power and 4-8 seconds of equilibrium just to get someone to have blackout so I can pull off a finishing move. Any decent healer can heal vapors before the tics.

Addiction is a bit nicer, but vapors was better. Fix it immediately, please.
