If anything that makes bards weaker, not stronger.

Dreamweavers will be happy.

Woo for the mushroom change! Though I suspect some people won't like it.

Subj: Aether Colossi and Constructs
Greetings mortals,
Aether colossi are now able to be built to battle your aether constructs. This system is one in which one organization can build a
colossus in the same room as another organization's construct. They can, subsequently, both be operated by a single player and attempt to destroy one another. Destruction of constructs will, of course, disable said construct's power. Please see HELP CONSTRUCTS for more information.
For those who are interested and available, the first time of battle will be at 5:30pm to 6:30pm, PST. Gather your citizens and join in the fight!

If your city doesn't have a construct though you can't participate, can you?
Acrune2007-02-12 01:54:48
Sure you can, just have to find someone else with a construct who you don't want to have one.
Genevieve2007-02-12 02:28:35
Yeah that was a dumb question. I'm pushing Celest's leadership to build us a construct though, because I like this new style of conflict.
Daganev2007-02-12 02:46:51
Is crushwindpipe the same as slitthroat?
Tael2007-02-12 02:52:26
Unofficially, it was just pointed out that Moonbeam in the Moon skill set has been rewoven. Apparently, we can no longer Moonbeam on a monolith and it's been slowed. Um, okay. I don't like to rant, but what? Moon has already been in a state of being weak. Moonburst is a horrible attack, some of the things in Moon are utterly useless. Whereas Night stays the same, oh.. and let's not forget the fix that Brumetower got. Great job, way to weaken Moon even more while letting a skill that's been overpowered for quite some time remain untouched.

Shine just got upgraded. Moonbeam needed to go for a long, long time.
And...Moon's weak?

Epic fail.
Gwylifar2007-02-12 03:03:51
So moonbeam is now just local-area teleport for no power?
Shiri2007-02-12 03:06:04
Moonbeam never really needed to go. When given extensive probing over WHY people thought it was bad, the only non-stupid point they could bring up was that it was abusable in villages to move between sancs without passing through crusaded rooms. That could have been fixed in a FAR EASIER WAY. Same for the stockrooms issue. Greaterpent is its own balance problem, and that has nothing to do with moonbeam either.
So yes, this change is wholly unnecessary, but apparently we're allowed to retrieve the skill's functionality in some other manner, and it won't consume an envoy slot. So we'll just have to think of a way to make it not totally redundant like it currently is.

Number one, according to the file.. Shine is a 10p defense. It's not worth it, and I doubt anyone is going to waste 10p to put it up. Number two, if you're a genius Shamarah, I would like you to point out where Moon flourishes. If you mention anything like Aura, I will point and laugh at you because you have an ability called Garb that does the same thing but better. Number three, Moonbeam was already slow at 12 seconds ago, according to sources. I mean, damn, are people that lazy that you can notice a beam and move away from it? If you're daydreaming, then that's your fault.
Shiri2007-02-12 03:10:28
Shine would be useful if it wasn't bugged.
Moon does have SOME useful skills though (drawdown, waning (?), lash, waxing can be nice, harvest could be good if we used it more) but that isn't really pertinent to the discussion.

If you're daydreaming, then that's your fault.
Or if you're lagging, it's your fault. Or if you typo trying to unlock your door / getting out of your stockroom, it's your fault. Or if you have a lot of spam from pricing / dropping items, it's your fault.
Apparently, that tactic doesn't work-- hence the change. You should discuss the skill with your envoy.
(And no, Moon is definitely not weak. You personally not wanting to use Shine is fine, but it's a skill that does give a pretty good advantage now that it is permanent)
As to Shine being bugged-- eh, I'll ask you about it elsewhere.
Shiri2007-02-12 03:24:17
It could (and should) have been changed not to work into stockrooms. And MAYBE to be aggressive so it didn't work in peaced villages if that was an issue. That's all.
Richter2007-02-12 03:25:48
I love the change to moonbeam.
