Or maybe sometimes you're in a hurry to defend during a raid and forget to in pack your gold? I might be inclined to agree with you if I hadn't lost significant sums of money to Magnagorans who are pricks and wouldn't return my money.

"Playing" with a corpse, eh, Xenthos?
Genevieve2007-02-01 03:04:06
Hmm, Shamarah gives me a very good idea for a "corpse defilement" emote.

mellow.gif Oh dear..

Shame Souls can't use the 'Boo' emote. We'd have more fun that way!

Again.. why are there banks again?
Ceren2007-02-01 03:31:07
Even before the change, personal bank accounts were useless.
Unknown2007-02-01 03:43:14
Well, what purpose does a bank serve really in the game. There's no interest in investment--in fact, it's a drawback to deposit because of the withdrawal fees. Where do the fees go, anway? It doesn't serve the community unless you seize an account. Bank accounts really only work for people who have clans or for orgs/community needs.

Since Lusternia (and I believe all IRE games) strongly discourage theft, especially where shops are concerned, this gets rid of one of the last loopholes. Some things that are legacy in the IRE codebase slowly go away. Newsrooms changed when NSTAT came out for instance. I could see banks becoming "virtual" instead of physical locations.
Diamondais2007-02-01 03:49:39
The fees are deposited to the main organization, they can be moved about by the Treasurer.
Unknown2007-02-01 03:53:58
Ah, okay then. Was wondering where those fees went.
Shryke2007-02-01 03:54:28
This just fixes all the hassle from people dropping X gold on astral during Y event. Just think of it as evading future annoying issues.
Genevieve2007-02-01 03:56:05
No, please, Fallen is on a censor.gif roll. Let's not interrupt.

- Avatar resurrection now costs significantly more essence than the paltry sum it once was.

I'm not sure how much it was increased, but it was as much as the other avatar powers and, unlike them, restricted in how often it can be used.
Richter2007-02-01 06:27:57
Banks are useless. Can they be made not so?

Because actually, in the real world, you MAKE money from having it in the bank, not lose it. That's why banks are retarded. I think I'll start a thread.

You were around before NSTAT? Man, I remember before NSUM, but...you're even more of a veteran than I am, and that's saying something! Maybe you even remember when Servelan ascended to Eris! BTW didn't Estarra used to be Eris? Was she the original Servelan, or someone who took over Eris later on?

Would post the lyrics to Code Blue by TSOL but you search and read them yourself. Too profane to post tongue.gif

The conglut change was intended to allow corpses to be used for defiling shrines or offered to a god even if the person congluts. The regrow/flashflood/earthquake changes make the skills actually useful.... though only in specific situations (raid happens and you have a meld, but effects are down).

I, too, think it's silly that you don't drop gold when you die. It's extreeeeemely easy to keep your gold in a pack (or some other handy container), and there's really very little reason you should have it in your hands during a PK event, raid, etc. Try this alias, for example:

CODE
#ALIAS buy {get gold from pack;~buy %-1;put gold in pack}

That's true, and I've never lost any money that way, but there's also not much reason that you should drop gold when you die, other than that's how it always was in other IRE games. We don't drop gold when we log out, we don't drop anything else (important), why should we drop gold?
