yah
and the idea is that if these people want to use hit and run tactics their power would come into consideration
personally it takes me 10 power to drawdown + 5 power if i use the nature totem + 3 power for a basic entourage of fae (nymph, mother, sprite) or like 10 for a full entourage = 13 to 25 power. which is nearly half of my daily drawing limit not counting if i try to toadcurse, dark moon, full moon, conclave, teleport or summon
with now if thats normal, then the use of a cubix with a 1 power per restriction, becomes limited and may cause downtime for some people if they want to bring their power reserves up to full again.

That is hardly an issue, 1 power..
Sure it bothers those that are heavy on power already, but it doesn't help at all against for those that are warriors...
So I dont consider that a good solution.. Got to be more power to make a impact.

meh it's going to get the least complaints

All it's going to do is stop people from liching and touching the cubix, which I honestly don't care about. I still think an eq/bal loss after leaving the fulcrux and after entering it would be fine.
I just can't see how the whole only the owner of the cubix can use it, and no entourage would help the situation. And it seems like it wouldn't really address the issues of people doing basically the same thing with a cubix as they were with archways.

Suggested changes:
A fairly short eq loss on leaving the fulcrux (about on a par with walking into a cow).
Exits on the cosmic planes to be rerouted to the respective nexus.
These two things fix our current problem without nerfing the cubix in general.

Then some people will still want full refunds, and that won't happen. You're not going to get them rerouted to the nexus without Estarra having to refund someone, or some people. It's also one of the points of the artifact, to get around unnoticed, and fast. Sure, a short eq loss can be accepted, but people will screw above it being rerouted.
Amaru2005-08-28 21:12:57
I think a partial refund would be adequate. There's no legal obligation for any refund whatsoever.
Ceres2005-08-28 21:16:51
Lusternia is a functioning world, and while we guarantee you will not lose any of the credits you buy, no such guarantee can be provided for what you purchase with the credits themselves. We wouldn't be in business very long if this happened frequently, but as it is a world, your actions have consequences, and the actions of others can result in consequences for you. It's this dynamism in the nature of the world that people enjoy about Lusternia. Thus, it is possible that the perceived or real value of the things you purchase with credits, or your ability to use those things, may both rise and decline during the course of play.

No. There are no legal obligations, but to just screw someone out of $600 dollars is wrong. There are no obligations of course, but I imagine it would look very bad if a lot of the cubix users were disappointed in the change and did not find their
fun toy as interesting anymore, and all the admin could say was.
"Sorry dude, yeah that sucks. We know. Here have a cookie."

You, the casual cubix user.
How would you be affected by a short eq time on leaving Limbo and the exits on Nil and Celestia being moved to the nexus?
Answer: Not at all.
Ialie2005-08-28 21:21:21
Then... also there is a good possibility that buying artifacts.. especially the top dollar ones will be seen too much as a risk as it would have been proven at anytime that said artifact can become useless at any point in time without any compensation.

Again I ask - how would your cubix (or indeed anyone's) be made "useless" by these changes?
Soll2005-08-28 21:22:56
Your beautiful sig is slowing down my forum-ing!

Line all the faces up along the banner, with Ialie in the middle, and overlay the text.
Then it can be static.

Even though I don't fight, I am just as an important player as you are. It would affect me. If you are hunting in astral and you are bleeding heavily and you don't get out of the fulcrux in time you won't conglut.

The eq loss comes after you move.
EQ
Touch cubix
EQ
Leave fulcrux
No EQ

I honestly don't know where the cubixes drop off on prime/ethereal - but I don't think ANY of them are in etherwilde/prime wilde, or any of our villages. So I'm failing to see the point.
Corr2005-08-29 02:07:05
Isn't the whole point of the cubix to be able to go to places your not able to normally go to?
Why would someone spend $600 just to be able to do something they can do for $100?

Ialie is a customer just like any fighter is a customer. They both spent that $600 just the same. What if f I spent $7.99 on a book to read and you bought it just to be a paperweight. We both spent the same 7.99 and we both have the same book so the bookstore should treat us the same.
