The only thing I hope is that the new skillset isn't above and beyond the coolest thing in the world, cause I'm having enough saving up credits for other stuff as is! tongue.gif

P.s. You guys Rock (adressed to admin only)

If you all put in Axes after I artify my flails, I'm going to die.... no exaggeration.... I'll really die.

Axes rule!

Then don't artify your flails. They can't put it in retroactively, after all, so it's up to you.

I tried to be a knight in Achaea, and found it severely lacking in the fun department. Being a warrior here is truly a great experience, and I thank the designers and coders for making things interesting. Can't wait to see what's next!

Yea. Knights here rocks. And IMHO falcons in other IRL muds are just silly.
When i discovered thet here warriors arent so silly i changed guild for Paladins.

Blademasters rules! tongue.gif

While I don't want to sound like I'm complaining about the warriors not getting anything, I do want to add my 2 cents to the discussion.

Someone mentioned Atheletic specializations. I love that idea, but not the way Ixion(?) took it. I don't want to see Knights with Telekinesis. What would be fun/cool/usefull would be specializations such as Acrobatics and others I don't have the brain capacity to think of (This is where the people upstairs take it away..). Just think about trying to hit a knight that is doing backflips around you, maybe even over the room your in, and attacking from an unexpected direction. Of course, I can't see these Acrobats wearing fullplate, but, it's a work in progress.

Opinions on this?

That'd be a big fat "Too late"

Possible suggestions to Athletics "sub specializations"

Acrobatics

Military Conditioning

Body building

Basically, those three skillsets would be made for "speed knight" "average knight" and "Walking Brickhouse knight"

Might be a nice way to balance out the weapon choices...
Murphy2005-07-04 04:18:49
ooer, i'm thinking bodybuilding would be good for wounds too.

yep, I could be a bodybuilder *flex*

If they put in other specializations, I should hope they would let you switch the runes for less than the ridiculous 1/3 credit cost.
Aajen2005-07-04 05:59:54
Possibly an endurance/strength and speed specializations, to kind of go along with knighthood fighting styles.... Endurance full of tankiness buffs, and damage increasers, and Speed full of affliction increasers and speed buffs.

EDIT: I should read new posts before posting.... I agree with Daganev
Shryke2005-07-04 06:56:53
simple solution give knights bows! Every knight would be happy... Especially me smile.gif
Ekard2005-07-04 08:21:56
No, i dont want bows.

Leave distance fight to Mags. Warriors are nice how it is, we just want to be more cool now. Evry other guild have new skillset, we want one too!!
celahir2005-07-04 10:51:04
I think we should get ranged combat!!

Up to master Knighthood should give the capability to fight with both melee weapons and ranged weapons but without giving afflictions, its all in teh damage. Afterwhen you pick your specialisation you should be allowed to pick say archery which allows you to afflict from so many rooms away with bows and arrows and throwing knives etc. Then when the opponent does come to melee you can still use swords or bludgeons to fight but you wont be doing any afflictions.
celahir2005-07-04 10:52:40
Oh, divine please dont add a skillset that means we have to waste loads of credits and lessons to get it. I'm saving up for credits for forging and dont want to end up getting it just to then have to buy more for a new skill set sad.gif
Unknown2005-07-04 10:55:35
It would be so nice if we were able to switch to the skill sets that come after us without suffering the penalty of lost lessons. I'll be sad when warriors gain that new skill and I have not the credits to switch from what I have now.
Marcalo2005-07-04 13:22:04
bows would only make sense for commune knight, since they are like rangers, the rest maybe a specilization based on where you are from.
Shryke2005-07-04 18:32:52
Well, city's have towers... Wouldn't knights have to shoot from them with bows?

I would love to see a Knight try to shoot a bow, especially wearing full or field plate. biggrin.gif

They're completely different fields of combat. Knights would more likely be seen standing on the walls in their armour with weapons, ready to repel any invaders that managed to scale the wall, keeping them away from the archers and cityfolk, and dropping stuff on enemies until then.

Edit: well, actual knights would probably deem "dropping things on enemies" to be beneath them, and not even bother with that. Anything to avoid real work!

I actually brought this up, once, in the form of guards/mages being able to attack from the city walls of New Celest. They said they'd look into it and let me know. I never heard from them again, so I assume it was deemed infeasible.
Tenebrae2005-07-04 18:58:57
In truth, in other realms we are a bit more fastidous than others as the knights, yet if we are truly missing something, it could be said that we are missing our elementals, or falcons..
