Needs to watch GiTS 2: Innocence then. SAC is horrible, but only when compared to the original movie. If you treat it as a standalone with surprisingly familiar characters, it's a good (sometimes very good) anime. Ah, and Tachikomas are cool, although hardcore GiTS fans could find them annoying...

But Innocence is just brilliant. A work of art, beautiful, food for the soul and the mind, etc, etc. Not watching it (or not enjoying while doing so) is a sin.
