A new zone / maze

The following are descriptions for the new zone at L'ianmor. The idea of this zone is to create a maze of themed rooms, that begin with the realism of the rubble swept rooms, forgotten by time. The more you creep into the maze, a special kind of magic shifts the reality of the viewer around until they reach towards the decadent alternate reality that was first present so many years ago.



  1. (138) Entrance to the town of shifting paradigms.

    A large gateway to the south is revealed, the doors slightly open. An old tollbooth remains, a chair and desk inside, accounting books showing the people that lived inside, whether they are deceased, or alive, or unknown. The gravel from the pathway leading to here turned into a harder stone. The mansion before you looks has fallen into disrepair. Though not one window has been broken.




    1. (139) A corridor filled with fading fliers

      Fliers flutter around the corridor, the light from the entrance barely shining in. Rustic lighting from the walls reveal rubble from broken pedestals and flower pots across the room. Fliers are crunched on the ground as you move, famous voice actresses from old productions, tapestries containing happy couples holding in their hands tickets to the new emporium. A painting on the right wall show a cage with children squeeling at the manticore's roar. They look happy, or terrified. You cannot tell.




      1. (140) A rubble filled fountain room





        1. (143) A desolated noblewoman's room with music playing

          A broken phonograph remains in the corner table, playing an odd beat, repeating over and over. A charred husk of a corpse remains, the noblewoman's rings remaining, slouched on a chair. The table broken, schematics of a forgotten dream remaining on the walls. A fight might have broken out there, or an suicide, with a bottle of some unknown alcohol remaining at the ground.




          1. (142) A charred children's playroom

            Long since unused, an eternal fire is present in the corner of the room smoldering. Dolls and play pens burned down, leaving carved husks of dolls as they stare at you as you enter the room. Lullabies written on burnt parchment, broken chairs and bookshelves carved with a child's heart remain. Written on the wall are the words: “Can I sir?” in dried blood.




            1. (141) Darkening room of incense



              1. (144) A feast hall

                Up and down the hallway is a long table, with numerous chairs set all around the room. A king's feast, with hundreds of different dishes remain on the tables untouched. Tapestries on the walls show a gnomish family, masks on their faces reflecting the painter's gaze. The room looks as if it has been suddenly deserted, chairs overthrown, dishes half finished. Closer inspection of the food reveal that they were not just the dishes of some rare animal, but one more exotic. Fingers of faelings remain on the dessert dish, while an igasho carved remains on the main dish. It's face remains with the only recognizable look remaining. It's face in a silent scream as his chest has been carved out to serve the decadent consumers when he was still alive.




                1. (147) A room filled with stories

                  On the walls, the desk, the cabinet, the chairs, on the drapes, stories have been written. Memories of the gnomes that existed here, their valiant tales and destruction has been cast around. You can pick up a letter and read it or write your own story and contribute to the ever growing mass of tales here.




                  1. (148) A frozen room

                    In this room, you will find an eternal snowdrift present in the room. A relic of some gnomish entrepreneur that wanted to give his fiancee a gift many years ago. The gift itself outlasted the relationship, and remained in the room. You will find snow tinkle down around you, the ice cracking as you take a step, and a lone barren tree growing at the center. The tree itself, long frozen, had been adorned by trinkets that clink with each snowflake that drops on it. But the reality is that that sound has been the only sound here for centuries.




                    1. (146) A grand stage filled with dolls

                      Entrance to this room leaves you at the stage. Lights are shining on you, the chandelier remaining in a perfect standstill above. The audience seats around you are filled with hundreds of forms, all staring at you. Deceased corpses, rooted at their post. Vines grow from the ground, twisting into the bodies and rooting them. Children with a look of horror remain, their eyes vacant and home to insects. A few of them are still clutching their gnomish made dolls. The dolls, untouched by time, still stare at you. After a few moments, you will begin to hear whispers, as one doll speaks to the next, criticizing you, booing you, telling you to leave the stage. Their heads will turn to your exit and they will fall silent, waiting for the next act to enter.




                      1. (145) Kaleidoscope glade

                        Entering the greenhouse will reveal the kaleidoscope glade. Tinkering with life, the gnomish scientists made the plant life change colors depending on how you look at them. A laboratory that has fallen in disuse, glasses containing unknown liquids broken, you stare at the plant life. A step to the left makes the leaves turn red, a step to the right turns them into blue. A lounge chair rests at the center, with a mask remaining on the table top. Wearing the mask reveals a secret within the plant life, the source of its' energy, and you drop the mask on the ground. Revealed on the inside of the mask are the words: “Can I Sir?” As you step away from the room, the plant life returns to gray mold, the source of energy going away.




                        1. ( 149) A sleeping playground

                          Beds are placed all around the room, on the walls, the ceiling, the ground. Dozens of beds, each of them perfectly made strike a resonating mark on the viewer. As if encased in sap, the bodies of dozens of gnomes are lying down on the beds. Children with their parents, mothers and fathers all in a perfect sleep. Notes on the ground reveal the idea, the selling point, that the nobility can wake up in hundreds of years whole and normal by outside providers. The bodies have been tampered with, their gold stolen from their pockets in their sleep, the caretaker long gone.
