Just for fun, with new bard guilds on the horizon, what would you play?
Unknown2012-01-03 06:28:41
I would love to see woodwinds; too bad that doesn't fit the messages.
Unknown2012-01-03 06:29:55
Triangle.

Gaudi needs skin flutes.

...Yes.
Raeri2012-01-03 06:31:24

Triangle.

Except considering the cities the guilds are in, I doubt they'd stop at such a simple shape!

Bagpipes are such nice instruments. I do love the sound of them when they play something OTHER then amazing grace.
Enyalida2012-01-03 06:48:37
Bagpipes would work! As l long as you can play a chord on the instrument and sing at the same time, it should make sense in the contest of Music. With bagpipes, you could sing as you squeezed the bag, I guess!

Harp would be nice.
Lawliet2012-01-03 16:07:18
Fairly sure they said no wind instruments as you wouldn't be able to sing with them, but then if they were to release new ones for the Gaudi/Halli bards I suppose they might change things up completely but it seems a little doubtful. Even so, bagpipes!

Cello

Drums always struck me as fitting the Gaudiguch vibe.
Unknown2012-01-03 16:36:08
Harp harp haaaaaaaaaaaarp. Please?
Unknown2012-01-03 16:49:27
+1 to the harp parade.
Unknown2012-01-03 18:23:45
For me I'd go guitar/veena route or a piano theremin hybrid ala the air piano.

If we're going for weird instruments, I'd love to play around with a nyatiti! They're an aboriginal African instrument, kinda like a harp and kinda like a guitar. If you've never heard Ayub Ogada's music, find him on YouTube. DO IT NOW.

This is a good page about them, if you're curious. Ignore the obnoxious traily spark thingies that follow your cursor. http://www.kaypacha.com.ar/en/instruments/nyatiti/nyatiti.htm

It also has to be something you can reasonably carry around and play troubadour style!

How about the hurdy-gurdy?
Sakr2012-01-04 00:00:32
Well, why not an emphasis on vocals? Seeing how hallifax and gaudiguch's newer guilds took the archtypes and shook them about a bit? But that defeats the purpose of this thread so hurdy-gurdy + 1

They look like glorified egg slicers!

But really, they sound pretty. I approve.

Why is cowbell not on this list?

Also, Accordians for Halli bards
Enyalida2012-01-04 08:49:26
I dunno, I'm still stuck on bagpipes. So many Hallifaxians are already windbags that it will go perfectly.
