So what's this going on all about the sky? No rain, whispy clouds? When did this start/why?

It's the wounded sky, an ongoing event I don't recall a whole lot about other than ice devils. The main reason however is that the weather system was broken, and very difficult to fix as it was and so weather was stopped and boom, sky tear.

The weather system was apparently very very complicated code that did all sorts of crazy RL-esque weather calculations that made it very hard to tinker with, and when someone tried it borked hard, so they decided to turn it off and re-write it.

For the RP behind the event, the Forsaken decided to use the power of the syzgy (all of the planets aligned) to do... something, we never found out what. We were able to stop them, but the damage to the world's weather was irrevocable. The sphere in Snow Valley is supposed to be keeping the worst of it at bay for now. Look for event posts mentioning Forsaken, ice devils, or weird weather.

I'm a bit fuzzy on that, but it's either the ice devils/miasmas themselves, or whatever sent the ice devils/miasmas to us (I think the latter).

I'm hoping that Icewynd is eventually opened as a new area; a high level bashing and questing ground. It can even have it's own town; we can call it Icewynd Dale!

No one is speculating, someone just asked what was up with the sky. We filled her in the background, and pointed her to the relevant event posts.

Still I wonder, who stopped the rain?
