Liquidrift questions

Aside from the rather unfortunate hiccups, I must say I like this. Two questions, however:

Is there a limit of 2000 to the liquidrift like the normal rift?

How does it interact with runed kegs?

EDIT: Thought of two more questions...

Is the single point of the artie-vial now to link to five liquids, meaning it no longer boosts sips?

Is there a way to see which liquids a vial is linked to?

EDIT EDIT: And another one:

If artivials can link to five different liquids, what is the point of the spatial glassworking rune? Or do the five links only apply to vials with that rune attached?
Fayneix2011-11-12 22:45:03
I like it, but I can't put my keg into the rift! I keep doing: rift fill from keg. But then I get: What container are you trying to use? It worked with rift fill from vial; and rift fill from cup, so what am I doing wrong?
Ssaliss2011-11-12 22:48:01
Never tried to fill it from my kegs (I didn't want to mess it up, since they're all runed). Did you try to specify a specific keg though?
Fayneix2011-11-12 22:54:53
Yes,ah...here it is: rift fill from keg92353. Same error message. I'm trying to get this figured out in case Iosai decides to be awesome and bring it back.

Well, our surprise for the new era of super vials had to be undone b/c of a bug that prevented all items from converting from the old system to the new, but expect it to be back once we figure out what went wrong! In the meantime, you got the idea of what's coming!

Regarding artifact vial, every other sip from the rift is free so, yes, it effectively doubles 5 rifts!

The glasswork artifact will DOUBLE the number of liquids that can be rifted AND increase the max each holds by 150% so I imagine they'll still be desirable.
Ssaliss2011-11-12 23:09:06
For those curious, the limit seems to be 25 different liquids in the rift without a rune, making it not quite hold all alchemic stuff (although very nearly). Does anyone know how much of each liquid the rift will hold? 2000 sips to mimic the normal rift?

Yes, yes, that's all well and good, but do you have an answer for my problem, Lady Estarra?

That's correct. 25 liquids can be rifted, each with 2000 sips. The liquid expansion artifact makes that 50 liquids with 3000 sips.

Oh, and for those wondering what the heck I'm talking about since the announce went away...

ANNOUNCE NEWS #1904

From: Iosai the Anomaly
To : Everyone
Subj: Liquid Rifts and Lag Reduction!

PLAYER
------

o OLDIR, SHOPOR, and SHOPOLDRIFT have been deprecated.

o Some optimisations have been done to the rift (lag reduced by over
80%).

o Tarot cards, dream motes, and runes will no longer be stored in their
appropriate containers and will instead go into rifts. However, in order
to access the rift, you will still need ONE of the containers. To
transfer from an old replica into the rift, just TAP it.

o You can now sell tarot cards, dream motes, and runestones from shop
rifts. SHOPIND, SHOPOUTD. SHOPINDR, SHOPOUTDR. SHOPINRB, SHOPOUTRB.

o It is no longer possible to create pocketbelts. Any existing
pocketbelts will decay in 30 in-game months.

o There is a new skill in Planar: LiquidRift!

o There is a new skill in Enchantment: Teardrop!

o All vials will now decay in stockrooms, unless they have been crafted
with a sorcelglass sketch. The decay time for vials is now also much
shorter.

o Vials that have been crafted with sorcelglass can now be filled with
75 sips. They will also last longer.

o All existing Runes of Spatial Glasswork have been removed from their
kegs and returned to their owner's inventory.

o Runes of Spatial Glasswork are now known as Runes of Liquid Expansion.
They can be ACTIVATEd to expand a player's LiquidRift, allowing it to
store 50 different fluids and increasing the max sips of each fluid by
50% of base. Up to 6 Runes of Liquid Expansion can be activated,
allowing a total of 8000 sips of each liquid to be stored.

o Bandoliers can now only hold 10 vials. All bandoliers have been
emptied.

o Any vials in bandoliers will be able to link to two different liquids
in the rift. Vials will fall out of the bandolier when they are not
linked to any liquids.

Miscellaneous Changes
---------------------

o You can no longer skillchoice activate enchantment without highmagic.

o Figurines in pedestals will no longer decay in stockrooms.

o If a dreamweaver flings a mote at a target, and they are both in the
dreamworld, corporeal players will no longer see the mote being cast.

o You can now see what elixir you are drinking in the sip message.

PLANAR - LIQUIDRIFT

Syntax: RIFT DRAIN TO
RIFT DRAIN TO
RIFT FILL FROM
RIFT FILL FROM
RIFT LINK TO

ILR -or- INFO (to view contents)

The liquid rift is a powerful extension to normal rift functionality. It
allows you to store fluids in the ether itself and drastically reduce
your need to carry vials and bottles. You can drain fluid from the rift
into a container, or fill the rift from a container. Finally, you can
link a vial to a specific liquid and bypass the need to ever refill the
container directly. In order to link a container to a liquid, you will
need a teardrop sigil, a fesix bandolier, or an artifact vial.

A teardrop sigil allows linking a vial to one liquid, a fesix bandolier
allows you to link to two liquids, and an artifact vial allows you to
link a single vial to five different liquids. An artifact vial in a
fesix bandolier can link to seven fluids!

And reading back, I completely missed the part about the spatial glassworking rune in the announce :( I blame my fever.

How are the Solstice Gnomes and the Wheel gonna give people massive quantities or herbs and commodities now without pocketbelts?
Iosai2011-11-12 23:44:20
You'll have to wait and see. ;)
Ssaliss2011-11-12 23:55:18
Ooh, so there are more updates related to pocketbelts coming too? Perhaps I shouldn't have made that last poll yet then :(

Ssaliss:

What are you nooo-ing for?

I was being facetious. I really don't care if they go or not; I have no use for them.
Iosai2011-11-13 00:39:46
I'd like to apologise wholeheartedly for the issues that were encountered during this changeover. They are no-one's fault other than my own, and the support from the players has been very positive. We hope to have this resolved within the next ten minutes. I'd like to thank Rivius, Elana, and Chade sincerely for helping debug the process. Despite me spending a good few hours testing the changeover, there are some things that you just don't see when you know exactly what the code is meant to do.

Love Love Love the tarot changes! A+ on that one

It's cool, well organized and i don't have to change any of my aliases or anything.

2000 sips for the normal liquidrift. Each rune of liquid expansion will allow +1000 sips of each fluid. The first rune will also increase your rift size to 50 different fluids.

Not sure about runed kegs yet.

Artifact vials still double sips. Dual functionality!

Potionlist should show linked fluids in parenthesis. Also, 'II VIAL' will show all the fluids it is linked to.
Ssaliss2011-11-13 01:07:22
Awesome, thanks! Kinda bummed about the whole "can't sip if you have a keg with the same content" thing, but I suppose I'll have to start storing them in my vacuum.
Xenthos2011-11-13 01:12:28
The infinite-content vials aren't changing as part of this, right?
