DMP Calculation?

Nature Barkskin grants me up to 18 DMP, variable by skill level. Is there a way to determine how much DMP I have exactly, if not the max 18?

Further, assuming I have the max 18 from Barkskin, and 45 cutting damage reduction from greatrobes, does that bring my DMP percentage to 37%?

63 total
(01-20) = 20% +
(21-40) = 10% +
(41-63) = 7%

37% total

Am I calculating this correctly?

Thanks.

Great robes are not included in the calculation for DMP, I'm afraid.

As for the DMP granted by BarkSkin, you'll be wanting to learn the BodyScan ability recently released in Discernment. smile.gif

Armor points from greatrobes and plate and such aren't the same as DMP. I'm going to go with what everyone else has told me and say that it's even more complicated than DMP, so you would have 18% damage reduction from DMP + whatever your greatrobes give, too.

But let's say that you had more for the sake of answering the question had it not been greatrobes - and on top of that 18 DMP from Barkskin, you had 10 DMP from Attune in Environment, and 10 from a tattoo, giving you a total of 38.

DMPs Tier Weight Ratio
------ ---- ------------
1-20 1 1:1
21-40 2 2:1

So the highest we're going is tier 2, but first let's look at tier 1. We've gone all the way through tier 1 because it has a 1:1 ratio, meaning that for every point of DMP we get 1% of reduction. We fill out tier 1 and then we have 18 points of DMP left for tier 2. Tier 2 has a ratio of 2 DMP for every 1% of absorption, meaning here we get 9% reduction.
All clear?
