I am selling the Covenant Bookbinding Cartel. This cartel boasts one of the longest lived cartel within the basin, if not the oldest (save for Commune/City Organization Cartels).

With several private designs such as:

"a sparkling manual of ruby" - manual
"a starry leather book" - book
"a puckered lip vial" - sorcelglass
"a scroll of baroque silverwork" - scroll

And many, many more. The CBC also has several public designs still being used to this day, with the most notable being "a scroll bound by a diamond cherub/jade serpent/opal cat/etc" and others.

The bidding will start at 800,000 gold and will end next week on Friday at 5:00 PM EST.

Keep in mind that all private designs will be the highest bidders upon transfer and payment (save for ascendant events should the original designer seek to have their work submitted).

Given how long into the game bookbinding came out, "if not the oldest" is a pretty ridiculous claim.

Maybe she meant longest bookbinding cartel.
As for the oldest cartel in the basin. I believe that would be mine!

Dear members of the Cartel,

The Cartel is not just a group of merchants set together we are instead
of a hierarchy of our own. To keep with this the Cartel has its own
individual ranks for which you may aspire or fall too. I hope to see
that most of you reach your appropriate position as Masters of your
respected trades.

Mavens:
The highest position one can aspire to next to the leader of the Cartel
itself is the position of Maven. A Maven is given full authority to
induct new members and may even kick various members out for one reason
or another. Mavens also have the full authority of the Cartel to
construct new Jewelry Designs for which may be submitted for review by
the gods. There is to be no more then five Mavens at any given time
regardless of suitability for the position.

Mavens are also responsible for the promotion and reputation of the
Cartel as a whole. To help promote the Cartel all Mavens are required to
take the title Maven, this is not a request but a requirement and if the
proposed Maven does not adhere to this or a current Maven removes it
then they will be dealt with accordingly.

Mavens may be drawn only from the pools of Jewel Masters and Arcana
Masters.

Jewel Masters:
The pinnacle of the jewelry trade is to reach Transcendent, and to honor
those who have reached this great achievement we give unto them the
title of Jewel Master. They have the ability to see how much people owe
to the Cartel as it is important that Jewel Masters regulate those below
them and keep up with there own payments.

Arcana Masters:
The pinnacle of the enchanter trade is to reach Transcendent, and to
honor those who have reached this great achievement we give unto them
the title of Arcana Master. They have the ability to see how much people
owe to the Cartel as it is important that Arcana Masters regulate those
below them and keep up with there own payments.

Apprentice Crafters:
The respected Jewelers of the Cartel, these are the people with which
the Cartel is built upon.

Students of the Arcane:
Adding there insight into all things the apprentice Enchanters sit
within the Cartel and petition for new designs and find those who can
give them jewels for there wares.

Broken Crafters:
Be it Jeweler or Enchanter, Apprentice or Maven, sometimes people break
the rules of the Cartel. This position is for them. Stricken of there
appointed Cartel powers those Broken Crafters of the Cartel must adhere
to a punishment of non-construction and non-enchantment. If it is found
that Jeweler or Enchanter continues there trade while listed under this
they will be ejected from the Cartel and forever placed as enemy of the
Cartel. All assistance from those who are current members of the Cartel
will be barred and all dues will be brought up immediately.

The above is a description of the various positions. I do hope this
helps those within the Cartel and can help us continue on our course to
greatness.

Penned by my hand on the 5th of Dvarsh, in the year 101 CE.

The CBC was created about 20 or so days after bookbinding came out. If there is an older bookbinding cartel, then I stand corrected. Either way, its pretty old, and our designs are still widely used.
