Well, I haven't posted in the old thread of mine for a while, and it's getting a little big, so I figured I might as well start a new one. And I can start it off with this dude in particular:

I was practicing drawing men, then it turned into practicing drawing the Lusternian races portrayed as female in the art as males. I especially liked how this one turned out, so I took a picture of him (my scanner is broken...) It's supposed to be a dracnari. Yes I know the spikes on his head are off-center.

Same sort of deal, with a lucidian:

These aren't turning out too bad for 5 minute sketches. happy.gif I wish I could scan them instead of trying to get my camera to not shake and blur the heck out of the pictures though.

I always thought of Lucidians as being more...rough. Kind of a hewn rock/grown crystal kind of appearance.

A crappy phone camera preview of a big big project I'm taking on for myself!

Basically, the plan is to draw every race, one picture for females, and one for males. It's going to be a pretty big challenge (and a pretty big picture!), but I think challenging myself will be fun. I'm working on the female one right now...I think the biggest pain is probably going to be inking/coloring it digitally once I'm done with pencil sketches. fear.gif

Yaaay, lobos. Can't wait to see them. clap_1.gif

Yeah, some jerkbutt spilled coffee (cough, my brother, COUGH) on my progress of that drawing because he got angry while playing Diablo II and I keep my drawings next to the computer. THANKS, BRAD. If you were wondering why nothing ever happened with it. crying.gif I'm sure I'll take up the challenge again someday, but for now there's too much sour feelings around it.

Anyway! My current project (still very much in progress) is a portrait of everyone's favorite horrifying ghost family: the Paaviks. Here is a tiny snippet of the sketchy stage!

DRAWING CHILDREN IS HARD :

The lineart is complete. Coloring will happen either tomorrow or the day after.

Very nice! smile.gif

I love it!

Awesome!

Krokani are often overlooked, though it does add to the whole "slowly dying out" thing they have going on.

At first, I thought the krokani girl had super long twin ponytails, but it turned out to be the crease of the skirt and the cane. smile.gif

The head guy makes it seem a little like it's a mafia family tongue.gif

Very nice! smile.gif

That's super nifty.

I really hate coloring. mellow.gif

EDIT: You know what? Screw those colors, I don't like how they look. I'm just going to start the coloring over.

It looks good, Pheebs! biggrin.gif
I BEEELIEVE in you! You CAN color it.

Things are coming along slowly (so, so slowly...) but surely.

The shading on the clothing. It is gorgeous.

Due to various circumstances, I never did finish that picture. Maybe one day. But here's as far as I ever got:

It certainly looks nice! What's missing? Just some colouring here and there?

Finishing shading, tidying up, adding a background. Doesn't seem like much, but would take me hours, heh.
