Where did I get hemiplegy in here? This form below shows I didn't have it before the combo. Does collapsednerves always come with hemiplegy? That doesn't seem right though because I haven't noticed it before.

You have recovered balance on your right arm.
You enter a stance to protect your chest.
You rub some calcise on a shofa of blooming wildflowers.

You attempt the Kata form of razeextreme.
* ka raze turnus left
You thrust a clawed fist towards Turnus, ripping at the air before his face.
You raze Turnus's aura of rebounding with a clawed fist.
REBOUNDING DOWN
* ka boganj turnus lleg right
The shofa hooks Turnus's left leg, sending him tumbling.
Turnus's kneecap splinters as you smash his left leg with shofa.
* ka buck turnus gut left
You wildly twist and turn, kicking your legs out behind you. One thunderous kick
slams into the gut of Turnus, who doubles over and spits out blood.
You lose 1 momentum.

My guess is that you missed it earlier. This looks like a bug, though, since you shouldn't be able to cure hemiplegy with collapsed nerves.
Rivius2011-02-15 12:42:51
Can't pureblades collapse nerves without having to sever them first?
Unknown2011-02-15 12:44:23
That's not really the question here, though. He had hemiplegy and says he never saw the affliction, just the cure.
Vathael2011-02-15 13:32:42
Hemiplegy is a pre-requisite for collapsenerves for blademasters. Pureblades can give hemi and collapse in one attack. You can't smoke to cure hemi with collapse but you've always been able to allheale hemi with collapse.
Unknown2011-02-15 14:05:46
Not to deviate TOO much, but this does raise questions regarding report 500- that is, giving ALs mangle at heavy. It seems to me to be quite a bit better than the PB collapsed/hemi (regen/smoke) combo, or severed tendon in general.

Would PBs be somewhat obselete if that change went through?
Vathael2011-02-15 14:42:14
It is better. Heavy mangle is a dumb idea. Pb would still be a strong spec, of course, with all the ways it has to keep you basically perma-prone.

Yeah, I thought about how easy it is for me to get to heavy on a robed target, and thought, if I was mangling with those hits, how broken it would quickly become.

The only difference is that you could get a lock more easily since you need to cure broken leg to stand after curing the mangle. Other than that, tendon and collapsenerve have all the hindering (unless tendon gets countered by balancing) you can get with mangles.

EDIT: In fact, you could argue in favour of the pb still, since mangled arms don't prevent standing at all.
Vathael2011-02-15 18:59:36
To me, it's more about the salve aff stacking and how ridiculously easy it would be.

Thing is though, normally when I have hemiplegy-right and I try to do a kata form it'll give me the "Your right arm must be free message" which is why I included that first form. So I'm fairly certain I didn't have it before that attack, plus I did look up to see if I could find a hemiplegy message, but I've been fighting so many pureblades these days that it's pretty unlikely that I would've missed it.

You are awesome. This is what I was wondering (if hemiplegy was to collapsednerves what a break is to a mangle). This sucks though because I was hoping that I could smoke and then allheale to get rid of the regeneration cure. Although I guess this means I don't need to modify my reflexes much.

Fairly certain that's not true, my prone whoring relies on mangled legs. Keep in mind a mangle also constitutes a break and you can't stand with a broken leg either.

Also to continue the deviation about axelords. I think their stun knockdown is really all the proning they need. And if someone doesn't cure wounds they have amputate. So this would be yet another thing that'd cause warriors to crush robe wearers (except for my monk) and not do anything to other warriors. That said I feel bad that as a monk I can guarantee a mangled leg without any prerequisite besides momentum.

I always wished there was a category between heavy and critical, there's like a 3000 wound gap in there, It'd be nice if there was something at ~2500 which is about an uncured assault + regular strike on me which I think is fair. Getting critical 1on1 imo is impossible on anyone who knows what they are doing.
Vathael2011-02-15 20:38:50
No the system approached it properly and most regen affs can't be cured by allheale anymore. Still some that can be. Vey was talking about mangled arms and not legs in his edit btw. Axelord KD doesn't stun anymore, either, though it's still nice. Certainly more nice than the shaft BC got out of the deal.

Also, I have to agree about the monks statement! The assured regen affs is silly! Though this argument is what, 3 years old now?
Binjo2011-02-16 02:05:45
Haha reading comprehension fail. Oh well. Thanks for all the info everyone!
Malarious2011-02-19 22:50:50
Couple notes of misinfo:

1) Balancing cant negate tendon proning, we bugged that and its been fixed and announced.
2) Mangle does not prone on its own, in groups it would be extreme for sure (not hard for knockdown to prone first though either).
3) Because of how it cures into a broken leg yes, you can mangle, slitthroat, and its a greenlock if you were proned before the mangle (knockdown).

Those changes really make AL kind of an extreme in my opinion, 3 hit greens (4 if you dont do enough wounding).
