So I want to make a combat character, and the Illuminati look really cool from an RP standpoint, never done anything like them before.

I'm thinking Taurian, Aslaran, Dwarf, Dracnari, or Human, leaning towards Aslaran, Taurian or Dwarf. Can I get a quick breakdown of how Balance/EQ bonuses and maluses effect Illuminati combat, as well as reasons for stat and tertiary choices regarding the guild? Thanks, everyone!

I know I make way too many threads, but I'm new tongue.gif

CON -> INT -> STR in order of stat priority

Eq/Bal doesn't really matter anymore - the improved speed comes with disgusting con tradeoff, the penalty usually comes with terrible int penalties.

Astrology if you want utility/buffs.

Tarot if you want an actual reliable tertiary. (Aslaran helps with this)

Hexes if you want to do nothing but PK because it has no utility whatsoever. (And even then Tarot works marginally better, IMO)

Our top bashing attack is roughly STR-based, but you won't be damagekilling anyone. Even if you have less STR than INT crush tends to be stronger, since Cosmicfire is just that bad of a bashing attack.

Would the increased tankiness of Taurian or Dwarf be a better choice than the painful-looking sip penalty on Dracnari, or is the extra intelligence really that helpful?

I hate the sip penalty. If you get high enough in transmology, there's a Mouth morph that helps alleviate that (by one level).

The extra intelligence should really only be taken into account for bashing or general mana consumption. You could go dwarf or taurian if you wanted - some Guardians do well with it, but I figure it'll be a pain.

What are level 95 stats for a Human Guardian?

If I decided to go Pyromancer instead, would it be worth it to go Illithoid for the pretty awesome constitution and ego boost, or would a more traditional mage race be a better choice due to Pyro damage? Can I get a quick racial breakdown for the guild?

If you are planning to go tk pyro illithoid is awesome for it and failing as a second choice but to pvp as an unspecced failing with very little damage reduction doesn't seem very appealing at lower levels.

I did type faeling but iPhone spell correction changed it.. Still suitable though!

Human Guardian/Wiccan, Mage/Druid, Bard:
Strength : 13 Dexterity : 14 Constitution: 14
Intelligence: 16 Charisma : 13 Size : 12

Why does that seem TERRIBLE?

It has worked out pretty well so far!

I've tried illithoid too- illithoid works as a TK very well because of the combination of illdrain and forcefield allowing them to have effectively, surged knight like health. In other aspects, the very low cha still hurts though.

Because people are loss adverse, and you probably have one or two of those stats higher right now, and you're cringing when you think of giving it up, when you should actually be looking at how you'll finally be able to do whatever you want without any weaknesses for your enemies to target. Regardless of your gut reaction, it's better than prismatic lucidian (at level 95).
