I've seen the full documentary from which the traffic nut-cracking clip is taken, and I've always known that crows are highly intelligent, but the talk show and that particular dispenser experiment were new to me. Thanks for posting the video!

Several genera of cephalpods are similarly intelligent, such as octopi, squid, and cuttlefish. I'm always fascinated when very different or practically alien creatures exhibit high levels of intelligence. The cuttlefish in particular is interesting... runty males often manage to successfully mate by masquerading as females, thus fooling the larger males. The females recognize and appreciate the craftiness of the runty males and willingly mate with them.

I tried this in a bar two months ago. It doesn't work as well as the cuttlefish documentary leads one to believe.

I really enjoy a good TED talk.

I particularly liked the one on mathmatica and computing reality and evolution.

Some places in Sweden, Crows will circle animals preyed on by the local human hunters, since the hunters will leave behind some edible pieces. Hunters have learned to watch crows to find prey animals.

Symbiotic, much?
