This is the description for "Stargazing" in Environment.

"By grasping a basic knowledge of astronomy, you can generally tell the alignment of the Sun and Moon within the heavens, depending on which currently ascends the sky. If it is night and you have an unobstructed view of the sky, you can attempt to predict when Nexus World weakenings will occur - though this is inaccurate at best. Only an Astrologer can make accurate predictions and reveal the full readings of the heavenly bodies."

Does that mean that for astrologers, stargazing in environment is similar to stargazing with an astrolabe except only for the Sun and Moon?

Yep. You have to be outdoors, and you can only see the Moon at night.

Since there are no more weakenings, this seems kind of useless. Can't we update it somehow, like make it so you can Astrogaze without an astrolabe? It'd be good, even if it only served as a headsup for people who have to fight Astrologers, so they can be wary of conjunction and other nasty surprises.

And make the 300 CR hand-held astrolabe useless instead?

It's not just for weakenings though-- it's a weakened form of the astrolabe, it sounds like.

I think it's insane that it costs 300 credits to be able to use an already 300 credit to trans ability well
But that's just me.

I won't mind if Stargaze in Environment made it so we Astro's don't need the astrolabe, but I'll want a full refund, please.

My astrolabe is customized, so I will be very sad if this happens. I'd prefer stargaze in environment to do something new entirely.

Moon phases so we don't have to keep calculating.
Aramel2010-05-11 02:02:08
Oh yeah, showing moon phases would actually be really neat.
Xiel2010-05-11 03:12:53
Doing both DATE and TIME gives you the moon phase.

Think they mean how many days until the moon phase changes.

This. And it would be wonderful.
