After a substantial amount of procrastination, I have decided to start this thread as my portfolio for Lusternia-related (and especially character) artwork. Most of the work displayed on this portfolio will be works-in-progress and may or may not reflect the true nature of characters etc. I reserve the right for a certain amount of artistic freedom.

I would, however, appreciate constructive comments as I am always looking to develop and it really gets hard to properly see the flaws in one's artwork after spending hours on the same piece.

Thank you in advance.

1. Nihmriel and Saaga
This piece will hopefully succeed in portraying the characters Nihmriel and Saaga some day.

I wasn't aware those two were a couple. If I'm just reading that wrong, ignore me.

Anyway, that's an awesome picture and I'm pretty impressed. I might bribe you into drawing a few pictures of alts at some point if you're interested.

Not in a pretty oval frame, no.
Saaga2010-01-13 19:10:04
How about a dainty rectangular frame, then?

That could conceivably be even worse.

I wasn't aware you two were related, sorry. I do know that she makes some godly designs in clothing. biggrin.gif

My second statement stands though.

I am biased but I love Saaga's art!

I think the similarity in looks between Nihmriel and Saaga make it clear they are family. My initial thought on seeing this was of a mother and daughter, but that is more because of the size difference between the two.

Well, the size difference is there to emphasize a kind of a mentor-protege relationship I have always thought them to have. Nihmriel was Dean of Twilight before Saaga and so on and Saaga has drawn a lot from Nihmriel's scholarly work as well.

EDIT: This image still needs a few fixes, including Saaga's sapphire tattoos and whatnot. Also, Nihm's hand is odd. I shall fix eeet.

An update.Still needs some tweaking though.

Something for you Gaudiguchians out there. A work in progress - something to keep me sane amid pre-graduation exams.

ALSO, if someone could post the desc of a fiery basalt staff for me, I'd be eternally grateful. Dat leezard needs ah staff.

QUOTE
Name :A fiery basalt staff

Dropped: A fiery basalt staff lies cast aside on the ground, the air surrounding it flickering from intense heat

Probed: Carved from a single piece of ebony basalt, the staff radiates a heat so intense the air in its immediate vicinity flickers visibly. Its surface is smooth and flawless, utterly devoid of any decoration or adornments save for the two tips. At the bottom one, the staff flares out slightly, becoming thicker and allowing for a secure stand. Near the upper tip however, the staff splits into four pieces of stone that fan out and wrap around a flaming sphere, holding it securely in place. Shining a dark crimson, the sphere shifts continuously, appearing more like a thick fluid barely contained in its current form. Flames of bright red leap from the sphere every so often, making it the centre of a fluid, ever changing dance.

You can thank Aliod and his staff for the description!

Really nice! Your style is...um...
hard to describe.
But I mean that in a good way. biggrin.gif

About done, if only still needs a bit of polishing up.
Saaga2010-02-17 13:18:32

Another one, if a bit plain still.

I actually really like the flat colours of that Kephera...I don't think you should do anything else to it. Submit it, and it may get first place. It looks like a really professional piece.
Dugan2010-02-17 16:07:46
They all are good, but out of the three, I also like the Keph the best. Very nice work.
Unknown2010-02-17 18:04:36
So as not to kill the echo, I'm really digging the Kephera too! Something about the textures going over the whole image that's lacking in the others.

I don't know, I think that dracnari has a great stoned smile tongue.gif
