So the nerdfighters passed this on to me, anyone else been playing with it.

It has managed to pick my choices in the Doctor Who version fairly accurately.

Daalek Caan
Jack Harkness
Medusa Cascade

I'm thinking i'll try Sally Sparrow next

Hm. It actually knew about the greatness that was Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead.
Which is more than I can say for most of my friends... >.>
Eventru2009-07-20 19:26:13
I beat it. biggrin.gif Took it 29 guesses to properly deduce it was the movie Trick.
Eventru2009-07-20 19:29:24
My obscure knowledge is apparently being put to good use. Again I've bested it - though apparently I'm teaching it!
Kiradawea2009-07-20 19:42:35
Try the Akinator instead. It's smarter and provides pictures!

Bike helmet destroyed it. Though somehow a carburetor is similar to a helmet.... don't ask why.

Quick edit: Kleenex took it over 30.

Another edit: In retrospect, I think it's because the knowledge base and categorization that my brain uses is too different, and thus my answers confuse the poor 20q AI.

Last edit, I swear: Damn thing doesn't even know what a staple gun is. And when I was thinking of 'assault rifle', one of the questions was 'does it bring joy to people?' sleep.gif

Wow, I beat it with a bottle of water.

It guessed twice that it was a bottle of soda, heh.

edit: Oh and Akinator guessed Rand Al'thor, I was shocked! the only question that made me think it was anywhere close was the last one, which was "does your character have special eyes?"
Arix2009-07-21 00:23:15
It managed to correctly guess Hyacinth Bucket with me, I was surprised
Callia2009-07-21 01:57:10
Stumped it with Benny Hill.
Shaddus2009-07-21 02:30:31
Took it a while with George Carlin, but it caught me finally.
Parabollus2009-07-21 02:31:31
Somehow when I played 20Q Music it guessed at question 17 that I was thinking of Layne Staley from Alice in Chains. Must get more creative.

I stumped the Akinator twice. First with the Big Daddy from BioShock, and then with the Big Sister from BioShock 2.

How much did it agree with your assessment though?

Its answers are based on what people have told it before and it will tell you where it does not agree. I said that "No, Martha Jones did not meet herself" while it states that she has.
Callia2009-07-21 05:06:28
Akinator is kinda creepy. It got two of mine on three guesses...
Zenon2009-07-21 05:17:20
Beat Akinator with Carlos Sastre and 20q with Antoni Gaudi. I also beat Akinator with obscure Polish World War II generals just because I could, but that doesn't really count.
Also beat 20Q Movies with The Dam Busters and 633 Squadron; it guest 633 Squadron for The Dam Busters and vice versa.
Arix2009-07-21 10:11:56
My god, Hyacinth Bucket didn't stump Akinator either. Apparently that show isn't as obscure as I thought
Eventru2009-07-21 11:09:47
Akinator is pathetic - he couldn't pick up on any of my obscure 1980s/1990s television references, like Ren, Tula and Ioz from Pirates of Dark Water or any of the characters from Reboot.

Kept coming up with damn Thundercats/He-Man stuff. Great shows, but really? Reeeaalllyy?

You were subconciously thinking about these shows weren't you.

I managed to beat 20q with River Song and it had to take a submission cause it coudn't find her in the doctor who section.
Kiradawea2009-07-21 14:52:00
Well, to be completely fair, Pirates of Dark Water was never finished.
Unknown2009-07-21 15:34:55
It doesn't seem to pickup any obscure metal artists under 20 questions, woo.

But it does get them eventually, which is still fairly impressive.

And it doesn't pick up Eternal Tears of Sorrow at all. For shame.
