Aight, so I've been mapmaking/level designing with the Unreal Engine 3 (behind games like gears of war, mass effect, bioshock) for about a year now, ever since it was released to the public. Its a fun hobby, but really time consuming. One of my dreams is to make a fully realized Magnagora complete with movers and inhabitants, but thats a long way off. Here is a sneak peak at my April submission:

So I'm basically thinking, what should I do next? I have a few things I'd like to do listed in the poll, but nothing really jumps out at me. Decide for me ohmy.gif

That's Awesome!

I am overjoyed that you depicted it within the dome, instead of as a giant hunk of crude stone jutting out of the ground somewhere. The detail is amazing...

Woot! I'd love to see the finished product.

As for what to do next, I'd say Catacombs. I wanna see all the gar-thingies and undead ickiness depicted.

Awesome ohmy.gif

Is there any way to make it larger? It looks very detailed, but its a bit too small to make out everything, even after clicking on it.

Oh wow! This looks awesome!
Razenth2009-05-04 20:51:06
Do the Pool.

Catacombs definitely.

Catacombs.

I must have your skills. Please teach me.

Oh, and I voted for Avechna's Peak.

Does the Isle of Light include the Floating City of the Forgotten?
Unknown2009-05-05 02:06:42
Is that new?

All I remember of the Isle is the tower, and the golden beach surrounding it. I of course would go over the descriptions again if I were to do it...Catacombs could be fun, I guess. Making fully a rendered gar-thing with its own textures/materials is alot of work! >_< What I have in mind for catacombs is like a dank passageway with korath off in the distance, maybe with a few gars standing inbetween you and him, with glowing eyes staring at the viewer creepily. Or a wight. Whatever one is the most menacing I guess.

I've done some designing with UnrealEd but I must say, that is quite nice and much better than some of the things I've come up with.

I voted for the Isle of Light. Looks good so far, Bali.
Reiha2009-05-05 03:10:13
Holy crud that's awesome.

Rumor is, there's something bigger up there.

This is so cool.

If only Google Sketchup could compare. It probably could, but my computer definitely can't.

Anyway, at the top is Hajamin's Temple which still has all sorts of stuff there, including Avatar Aesyra. It's mainly for a quest for Lord Morgfyre's Order.
Arix2009-05-05 10:52:03
Oh yeah, I remember when they made Aesyra an npc. And then she came back...
Esano2009-05-05 11:11:59
So they switched it from Avatar Aesyra to the pegasus Aestra. In the middle of the event, IIRC.
