Click here for one of the best mappers I've ever seen. It's web based, and easy to use. I'd been using paint (very poorly) to create maps, and I think I'll be using this exclusively now.

Here's an example of a map of my manse that I made in a few minutes. Very rough, and I plan on updating it a lot more.
