I attempted to draw.

So I'm not an artist. But Amatsemaru was drawing Nys for me, and my vision of her wing shape is rather hard to describe without sounding overly technical, so I attempted to draw. Here is what I made.

It's cute and freckly! I like it.

Does it match your mental image of Nys? *worryworry*

So I'm not an artist. I can barely draw straight lines.

Since when does drawing straight lines and being an artist anything to do with one another? It's really cute by the way!

Point taken

Still, you looked at the drawing, comment on it? Please?

Sorry, I commented after the fact. If you want to submit it to the art contest colour it on unlined paper. Even printer paper will work if you don't have drawing paper!
Unknown2009-02-06 20:01:18
Oh, psh, I'm not submitting it. I would just embarrass myself. And it's already on lined paper, there is no getting it to unlined paper. I can't draw on unlined paper anyways. I need the lines to get proportions right. Because I don't actually have any talent.

Okay, now you are just making excuses. Transferring the image is as easy as taping it up to a window and putting another blank sheet on top of it. So you can still use the lined paper. If you want to get rid of the lined paper altogether just work with dots. Draw your head, then draw two dots on another scrap sheet of paper (or measure them with a ruler.) Under the head you place the dots so to show you where to put things. Read this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_proportions or look at these drawings (there is nude drawings here, but you will have to get use to it if you want to draw well.): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/ratc...ngbooks/015.jpg

By the way, if I thought you didn't have any talent, I wouldn't have bothered posting here at all.

What I usually do is put a sheet of lined paper down, then put the unlined paper that I'm actually going to use on top of that. I have a clear polycarbonate clipboard that I hacked into a light table to make the lines show up nicer.

That works too!
