Illithoid influencing logs

So my current plan is to influence tosha until it becomes unbearable post level 80, as a trill blacktalon. Then start bashing and PvPing more, and possibly change race. I am considering trying out Illithoid, they seem very interesting. But being trans influence, I would still want to use the skillset some. So here are my questions, many of which could be answered by logs of a trans influence illithoid using intimidation on something. I ran a forum search but couldn't find such a thing.

1. What's the general level of quality for Illithoids using intimidation? Does the bonus outweigh the low charisma by enough?

2. How much charisma does someone need to not be hit back by a creature? Getting +3 sounds easy, after that might be beyond my reach as a blacktalon.

3. I know that when you are an enemy of places, they will often attack you on sight, which makes it so that you can't influence them. But can you influence enemied npc's if they aren't attacking you? I hear that Kephera are the good post level 80 bashing place, I assume it's underground so I'd have illithoid regeneration, but I would ideally intimidate them before killing them. Once you're an enemy, is intimidating them first an option there?

4. Is illdrain on player corpses only or sentient corpses? Does it very at all per corpse quality? Anything else I should keep in mind while considering illithoid that will have trans influence?

Thank you forum goers suspicious.gif

Resident 'thoid here. scream.gif

1. I haven't done extensive testing, but I would assume not. Still, with a Penumbra up and all 3 village influence skills, I managed to kick some dwarf sentry arse pretty hard in Southgard yesterday, at Capable Influence. But I'm not sure how much village influence differs from regular weaken influence (Illithoids get a 'level 3 bonus' to both, though).

2. I dunno. A more experienced influencer should answer this... I manage to not get hit most of the time by just hammering down the influence command until it goes through. tongue.gif

3. Good question. I would assume you can't influence enemy mobs since I heard people yesterday saying they couldn't influence in Southgard because of enemy status. Can an experienced person answer, prz?

4. Finally a question I know! No, you can't illdrain player corpses, sadly. sad.gif However, mob corpses do indeed vary in quality. The tougher the mob, the bigger ego boost you get.

Can't help with first question, but the rest I can attempt to answer 2 and 3

2. I -think- it's random how many times they will 'attack' back. The chances will just increase (and with increasing strength) as the ego battle goes on.

3. You can influence things you are enemied to. Just can't just village influencing on them.

As a Celestine lobo, I had 13 Cha, and I was able to influence Tosha monks without them hitting back unless lagged. (No matter what your cha, you'll get hit every now and then because of it).

I would say 13 Cha is a safe bet, might be able to get away with 12 Cha.

3. Get someone to influence the area leader for Amnesty for you, so you can safely influence in that area for a few months.

Thanks guys content.gif Some valuable info in there and it's nice to get so many things answered so fast. There is just one question I have left now which I'm sure someone out there knows... do the Kephera in the level 80+ bashing area automatically start attacking Illithoids/enemies on sight? I could always find out before reincarnating but it would be nice to know now.

Last time I checked, they don't. Not sure though.

The illithiods do not attack enemies on sight it would not be fair for the kephera to do so (as they are in theory opposite hunting grounds).

While it would make sense from an RP point of view to have NPC illithoids/kephera attack the opposite on sight I think in practice it would just be massively unfair to those who picked those races to play.

As long as you're constantly hitting them influence-wise, I don't think you could be hit. I'm speaking as a 20-charisma Elfen, though... confused.gif

Only bothering with these two.

You now have access to Penumbra, so long as you're a Nightwraith and plus add in Beauty Blessing and possible Throne, you're able to get the +3 easy if not maybe an extra point.

You wont be attacked.
