Just a little survey regarding the town criers, now that they've been around awhile and people are aware of them. I'd like your opinions, if you have them.
Xenthos2007-06-11 01:59:08
As to #2-- God, no.
Arix2007-06-11 02:01:57
I also think t here should be a log for the criers of any messages the Iron/Star councillors assign, so that if they abuse the criers for personal vendettas, the Council and leaders will see

Like that they're informative about the quests around the place but don't want one in the Communes. We're annoying enough.

I don't have enough negative words to describe how I feel about town crier mobs. They are absolutely stupid and completely irritating.

They're almost always the brilliant idea of someone "in charge" whether they be a politician or builder who thinks a town crier will be a good thing and gets one installed without bothering to find out what the people think.

In short, town crier mobs are diseases born of bad government.

I voted no, but apart of me likes them.

I just don't want to be greeted by one every time I go near the Megalith.

Maybe if they stayed in a solitary position away from the populace, shouting every so often, that would be better.
Furien2007-06-11 02:14:15
I hate the town criers 'cause they move, but I do like how they're informative.

On Achaea, I've lived in Hashan the whole time. We've had Altarra ever since the city was born. I guess I'm numb to the general yelling from any town crier I see 'cause of her.

Maybe not. Even hearing the one in Celest when I'm there to pick up an enchantment is horribly annoying.

I guess it'd give me a new mob to hunt... but it's just not worth the nuisance (see the votes thus far).

I hate, hate, hate, HATE town criers. I want to set that bloody Rasshid bastard on fire and watch him burn. He's ruined the damn peace and quiet in Magnagora. EVERY time someone enters the room he's in, he spouts off. And he won't bloody stand STILL so we can avoid him.

ARRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure the city of Magnagora could pay to decommission him, since it was the city who commissioned him in the first place, not the Divine... wub.gif
Reiha2007-06-11 02:39:19
I think they should only speak when spoken to, and should not yell. Otherwise, I really like them. ermm.gif

I believe Rasshid was commisioned on the insistence of Morgfyre

1. Make the tower criers non-loyals
2. Let them re-pop quickly

There! Now everyone can be happy. Well, Magnagora can, anyways - I'm sure Celest would have some law against maiming Aural even if he wasn't a loyal.
Unknown2007-06-11 02:49:34
I like that idea happy.gif

Yes, I'm listening. I've been looking for a job for Grutina in Glomdoring. Thanks for the awesome idea! Glomdoring's far too quiet as it is.
