When you get down to it, powerplex jewels are a joke. 5% is pretty bloody low, considering the maount of power most people use for teleportation, tesseracting, deffing, and the like. Up it to somewhere in the region of 20%. Now my tedious justification is out of the way, add in a planar ability to set up a loop on the astral plane. Ten power, lasts for an IC year, you get one reserves per month out of it funneled into your reserves, and can set up to four at a time. Thoughts?

5% is dissappointing, but I suppose those of us that got them knew what we were getting into. I'm just going to have to wait 13 days for my reserves to fill up while I'm gone.

I agree... 5% doesn't go very far at all these days, nor does it compare much to what you can find from many expanded sources.

It would be nicer if powerplex jewels functioned like mini-versions of the Titan skill. Once a month you can touch one to restore 25% of your power reserves.

I've always thought a powerplex jewel should be able to store energy in addition to creating it.

For example, every month it fills with 5-10% energy (5% would still be low). It would be able to store up to 25% energy. At any point, you could then suck the energy in the jewel out to your personal reserves all at once. Thus, the power would be more on-command and useful.

Jewels are cheep and your suppose to buy more than one to get the "full affect"

Do you really want warriors able to pull of 10+ crushes in a row without waiting for power regen? How would anyone ever kill them?

Of course he ment what he said "reserves", not on-hand power.

Though that would be awesome. Imagine a demigod able to pull off lunges until the end of time...

and by awesome you mean completely unbalancing?
Sylphas2006-03-28 17:54:29
Oh, nevermind, I was being paranoid.
Richter2006-03-28 18:37:04
Cheap? Jewels cost almost $100!
Daganev2006-03-28 19:47:12
they cost 150 credits... *peer* For artifacts thats cheep.

Its only 600 credits to have all the power I will ever use in a month flowed into my reserves. I think thats still cheaper than buying a Ship with a collecting node.

Powerplex Jewels: 250 credits

Is helpfile info outdated?
Richter2006-03-28 21:37:58
No, Daganev is just remaking the world according to His views. Powerplex jewels are indeed 250cr. smile.gif
Athana2006-03-28 22:35:05
Powerplex jewels had to be the worst investment of credits ever. I traded both of mine in after only 3 days because they were so disappointing and spammed my messages, too!

EDIT: Plus that's when I discovered Astral evil.gif
Richter2006-03-28 23:26:53
Yeah, the message every day is irritating. Can we get rid of that?
Unknown2006-03-29 03:47:51
Aww c'mon Richter, how hard can it be to delete one message an hour? Wussy! tongue.gif.
Arix2006-03-29 03:49:04
Those messages are pretty annoying

It's only one a day, thankfully.
Unknown2006-03-29 04:03:15
Heh well then it's hardly worth worrying about is it?
