A Visit at the Eternal Flame 16th of Shanthin, in the year 518 CE The Kaelye 24th of Estar, in the year 516 CE As I was enjoying the seasonal Wayfaire and the various festivities it offers a few weaves ago, I encountered strange sightings near the road below Avechna's Peak. I went to explore what seemed to be a recent crash site. Trees and wildlife had taken the damage of a great oval-shaped flying object that had to land in emergency. This is where a fortune campsite has been devised by the Kaelye, a people who come from very far away. Taimi Kevinen is located within a tent, trying to gather the Kaelye currently lost within the Basin, and has proven to be very curious about us as well as the Basin of Life. They seem especially intrigued by everything different from what they know. Do travel to meet them. They are lovely and very curious. My conversation with Taimi Kevinen was rather limited due to the language barrier, though we were able to converse through hand gestures, a few words and the cultural information we had learned about each other so far. They name their ship 'kauko'. The one observed would be an equivalent of an algontherine here. Perhaps they are sentient as well since interlinked pulsing veins have been witnessed through the kauko. This cannot yet be confirmed. It is speculated that the kauko allows to travel further beyond aetherspace as we know it, though more research would be needed. Their kauko is composed from gigantic bioluminescent eggshell in hues of green and blue. It was also learned that the Kaelye travel to escape a source of fear at the moment. What danger they are running away from is still unknown. The word 'Eksynyt' was pronouced at that instant. It is thought to be either the equivalent for 'fear', 'distance' or the name of their home. They possess intriguing differences. The sun was defined as 'Tamaon Mika'. Though after reflection, this was most likely an interrogation from her in her own language. The energy emitted by this celestial body is uncomfortable for them. They are naturally able to see the fae that us, dwellers of the Basin, need to be imbibed with alcohol to be able to finally see. They are covered in short blue fur streaked with green, have many tails and possess muscular legs built for leaping over great distances. The Kaelye are familiar with the garosaurs and have quite a few of tamed ones at their campsite. They call them 'gar' and it has been said that the thoughts of the gar are filled with various shades of blue. However, I am still not certain of the meaning behind this. The Kaelye are polite. To say 'thank you', they face someone and place their fingertips upon their own forehead. This exchange was very interesting and there is still so much more to learn about them! Sunyata 6th of Dioni, in the year 517 CE There was a gigantic tree, extending in all directions it could reach and it was breathing with life and diversity. Bark of interwoven woods, metals, crystals and flesh were melting within each other in saps of varied hues. Branches faintly rustled with faded pasts, paths being defined and would bifurcate towards nearly imperceptible possible junctions which did not yet exist or ones which would not be possible without specific combinations of branches before them. The rustles became whispers of various languages - known, dead, alien or possible - progressively fading into a soothing white noise. I woke from my meditations very suddenly, shivering and trying to catch my breath. From all I heard, I could still remember one single unknown word very distinctly, 'Sunyata', and as my mind associated it with what I had seen, I thought that it sounded beautiful. Later that weave, the garosaur egg offered by the Kaelye - for assisting them - hatched. The pup with shimmery silver feather-scales had many wide eyes gleaming with endearing curiosity. The Kaelye's reknown for their incredible talents at engineering life as well as their beastmastery secrets were sought after before the presence of the Kaelye was even witnessed within the Basin, before we even knew of their existence. For this pup who had been so loved and cared for with minutia by so many before, and for all who exist, I could not think of a more suitable name at that very instant. How the Kaelye met the Gnomes 15th of Shanthin, in the year 518 CE Quite a few weaves ago, I heard a loud scream from the Kaelye camp and traveled there as fast as I could. Taimi Kivinen was hissing at Stefano, the gnome who was previously buying the muku balls from us near the Aetherplex. He left upon my arrival. It appears that he threatened Taimi to be allowed to have a closer look at the kauko of the Kaelye and attempted to harm her. I explained to her that the gnomes are merchants and aetherfarers who are interested in acquiring alien technology. It was then established that the Kaelye would protect their technology and would protect themselves against the gnomes who would try to obtain it once more. A lengthy conversation ensued as Taimi was captivated by celestial bodies, the legend of the Sun chasing the Moon and our own sentient algontherines able to reach distant island-like aetherbubbles where many gnomes can be found. We were able to learn a few more Kaelye words such as 'keetos', which is used to express gratitude and is often said at the same time as a kaelye places their fingertips to their forehead. Then 'tuntea' which seems to designate experiencing for oneself in order to earn knowledge, to see, to understand or to know. 'Nimi' means name. The homeworld of the Kaelye, Lyraa Ey Rielys, was described as having no sun, no moon, no other celestial bodies in sight and very few sources of light. It is inhabited by Kaelye, Linorii and Gar. There is ground and muku there. It was suggested that perhaps their living environment is subterranean, though this is uncertain. Light is uncomfortable to them, though they have their very own way of producing it and Taimi has been able to show it to us. She took a glowbat and squished it delicately to increase its violet glow. Then she plucked its wings. It was quite a sight. Their home is very far away. They have traveled here, became lost and were seeking ways to return home. Taimi mentioned being afraid. Then we talked about the many languages found within the Basin and of similarities between the Kaelye and most people dwelling here. Taimi learned that almost all races were the remaining shards of splintered Divines and that said Divines lost Their lives in this process. She learned that Viscanti originate from many different shards together. She then shared with us that the Kaelye are shards from the splintered Elder Kaenalye. A Visit at the Eternal Flame 16th of Shanthin, in the year 518 CE Around three or four weaves ago, Taimi Kivinen visited us at the Eternal Flame and was eager to explore our city. She learned of our pyramids, then of the Eternal Flame which assists us with certain aspects of our search for Enlightenment. The heat of the sun was rather overwhelming for her, though she still agreed quite enthusiastically to ascend the main pyramid in order to visit the Guardian Drachou who likes to perch at its very summit. There we fed origamis to Guardian Drachou. We also discussed of the Elder Dracnoris and the Dracnari shards. It is at that moment that Taimi announced the imminent departure of the Kaelye, to see if they could return home. Their Shapers were constructing a new shell and their algontherine egg would hatch soon. They missed their home very much and did not fear the possibility of death while exploring if it meant a chance of seeing their home once more. I assured that the Kaelye would always be welcome in Gaudiguch. We then traveled together and I left her at the northern gate of the Engine, as she expressed her wish to continue to explore and to learn more of the Taint, the Earth as well as the history of the people living there. A few weaves later, as I was waking, I was lucky enough to have a glimpse of their new ship taking flight. What adventures the Kaelye encountered after Taimi's last visit to the Eternal Flame remain mysterious to me though I hear they were eventful. I wish the Kaelye and Alku, their new algontherine, good fortune in their quest.
